Why do I find that hard to believe…

Well, I and any unbiased observer; can easily find two contradictory statements from you here side by side.
SSDR wrote:but he doesn't make direct responses,
I'm not sure exactly what makes you say so, but assuming it is right; people have different preferred styles in how they converse / communicate with the others, one cannot / should not hold that against them. After all, it is the content of one's argument / discussion that matters more than how they put it forward.
SSDR wrote:and he rarely states his own views,
He explains things, sometimes in an elaborative and detailed way, to help the person reach their own conclusions; rather than ‘telling’ them directly what is
good or
bad,
right or
wrong. This is not equivalent to ‘not stating one’s own views’. And, it’s actually a good method I would say, by giving the person/s he talks to; the freedom to have their own thoughts, and understandings…
SSDR wrote:he just copies and pastes web links
I don't recall a single instance, when he just attached a link, with no explanations to go with it; or not to have used it as an addition / complementary to what he has already explained.
SSDR wrote:or uses his autistic diagrams.
Firstly, the combination you have used here, is incorrect. The term 'autistic' is generally used with the reference to a person or group of individuals; not to 'things' such as 'diagrams'.
Autism:
A developmental disorder of variable severity that is characterized by difficulty in social interaction and communication and by restricted or repetitive patterns of thought and behavior.Secondly, you're just saying this because you don't understand / make efforts to understand the meanings / implications of the referred diagrams. Therefore, you turn to the easy way of 'branding' them (or should it be him..?)
SSDR wrote:I am not trying to win a political argument. Who ever told you that is lying to you.
Perhaps you're not, but your're talking too
contradictory most of the time, seemingly sometimes just like to hear your own words; and some other times, repeating the other person's words.
Then again, perhaps you actually
are trying to win an argument, but preferring the method of making a smokescreen to hide your actual political agenda.
