Problem is, Putin doesn't want to do it, because the Ukraine as I said is a basket case economically and politically, and Western Ukraine where all the Fascist Uniate scum come from would no doubt engage in terrorism and guerilla warfare into the indefinite future. And, he hopes the West will welcome him back into the circle of liberal nations, at least he did for a long time...

By the standards of the present Russian political spectrum, President Putin is a Western style leader who once had the backing of the Western Elites before their falling out... At heart he's too much of a Russian Patriot for them. There are people who are more ''Liberal'' than Putin but they have zero chance of ever leading the country, thank God. I'd say two-thirds of the country probably would want some type of Socialist government but those parties are divided and the country is ruled by pretty hyper-capitalist individuals instead.
