What is telling about this discussion is that to find a decidedly worse example than Saudi Arabia one has to look back into history. It is similar to the nonsensical argument that Christianity is just as "bad" as Islam because 500 years ago there was an Inquisition. Or that Rome used to feed folks to lions more than is quite right.

The glaring problem with Saudi Arabia is that they ought to know better, have examples in Islam of better and continue to operate a despotic and patently anti-woman system while the majority of the others with issues are at least officially trying to fix them.
