Clockwork wrote:Yep. Fine. But you do know that every country in the developed world is going to have that problem, Denmark is no worse off.

Not every other country, only countries that have low personal savings rates because they've promised their citizens tax-funded social services when they retire, which is almost every Western country. Wealth redistribution has negative long term effects on an economy. I don't see any reason for supporting it given it obviously perverts the incentive system that motivates people to be productive and thrifty.

Something along the lines of an Heinleinitic technocrat-fascist. Mostly apathetic by now though. Hoping for a giant wave of logically-oriented folk to Human Diaspora into space leaving all the Last Men degenerates and wood-worshipping primitives to gawk at big trees and rumpled texts until they are Dinosaured into extinction by a meteor... damned lack of shrine to Meteoris!

Im well aware that people in Denmark have plenty of money right now, they wont in 20-30 years though.
The U.S. has been fucked up because of lazy "economists" in undeserved positions of authority who's ideals are based on what they are told will transpire in 20-30 years. Because of their utter and complete insulation from any of the immediate realities pertaining to the street they've had only their pompous ideological dictates with which to govern their affairs. And their affairs of privilege have extended too far into the everyday survival of actual people and their governments. This circumstance is the only thing that will be changing in the next 20-30 years.

Communist? Who do you think is now benefitting to the tune of its second trillion dollars of the money of the collective citizens of the U.S.? The people? If I were you I'd stop worrying so much about communists and start taking a look at armed robbery by your own government. Your "economic" demigods are nothing but a gang of contemporary visigoths taking your money, country, values, and community away from you like the squealing victim in Deliverance. And your pride is allowing you to do nothing but shriek about "ideology" in your crib like an angry infant who just shit his pants.

Sorry. Too many mixed anal metaphors. I've been listening to Rush Limbaugh too much. But you know what I mean.

NoRapture, do you have any familiarity whatsoever with what Economists actually do?

Oh, yes. I think at this point most Americans are experiencing the rock bottom of what economists have done. I've always understood that economists do a lot of vested research? Advise both privately and governmentally? And seem to do a lot of jabbering, excuse-making, and consulting on U.S. oil-media broadcasts? You may correct me if you'd like. I'd love to give an economist more credit than I'd give to the average, working American, who is handing his own money collectively by the trillions of dollars to some corporatist thug, personally taking millions a year to consult on the economy with our "government" about why he needs such a ludicrously vulgar proportion of our treasury.

There are people among the left who think economics is greedy materialism, and it appears NoRapture subscribes to that belief.

Norapture not all economists are bad, I suggest you study some of the work of an economist called Peter Schiff, he was warning about the 2008 crash from around 2004 and up until it actually happened in 2008, during this time period he got laughed at and ridiculed by alot of these super cool main stream economists and nick named Dr. Doom.

He was proved right in the end though and the crisis unfolded exactly like he predicted.

There is nothing wrong with economist as such, you just need to listen to the ones that are smart :hmm:

Yes, as Peter Schiff says ''the vast majority of the economists on the financial shows are not trying to give you good advice, they are trying to get you to buy stocks''.

And what position or office does Mr. Schiff hold in the White House or Congress today?

As far as I know, he was an economic adviser to Ron Paul, and I think he's going to run of a senate seat.

In other words, he's just another dirty right winger that wants to bomb poor neighborhoods in America.

But only after he makes sure the population can undercut illegal aliens as a cheap labor force. Like in New Orleans after Katrina.

Well, the thing is, if you bomb cities and make people homeless, then you can exploit them has slave labor, or at least indentured servitude.
