1) There will be elections 2 years from now. Trump might even serve two terms.
2) Republicans voted for Nixon's impeachment as well.

This could very well be possible if the party is no longer satisfied that they have control over Trump. I'm of the school of thought that Trumpism as a movement has to continue its march up to and including a transformation of political culture that firmly protects Trump's position in power.

They might impeach Trump. But they won't stop MAGA. What will save Trump is well, the people actually.

The trouble is now, is that Trump has just been catapulted into political establishment. Ironically maybe in couple years there will be fresh blood in the Republican party who will be not of the establishment. Thus they will be more willing to work with him. So the party and establishment might become his greatest asset in the future.

But until then or simply in the beginning, he will have a very difficult time. He runs a chance to being ostracized, impeached, or just down right assassinated.

Do you understand that a country can be a democracy and a republic?

The Republicans will work with the Democrats to impeach Trump if his policies start hurting the global business interests of corporate America.

Trump knows about Mafia-style real estate business, but he is thoroughly ignorant of the global economy.

We ought to work for regime change in Washington now.

The US is suffering from the same malaise as the UK. The binary nature of their political systems prevents the appearance of a strong center party at a time of increasing polarization which reinforces the extremes on both sides of the political spectrum.
