Classes are based on purchasing power not purely amount of money.
Middle class are considered middle class depending on how much can they afford to buy and how much purchasing power they have, thus classes are the same in all countries.

An upper class in Iran would have the same purchasing power in his\her market as that of an upper class in the US.
Same for middle class and working class and lower class.

Thats basic socioeconomics.
So no, poor people in the US are not middle class in Iran. Their purchasing power compared to their market would be the same as that of poor people in Iran compared to their market.

Articles like the one you shared doesn't consider any factor other than amount of income which is wrong.
500$ income in the US would make you poor, but 500$ in Belarus for example would make you lower middle class. True.
But the job that gets you 500$ in the US would get you less than a 100$ in Belarus for example.
Thats why purchasing power, price index, average income, and many other factors are taken into account when studying these things.

Yes, you fail to understand the concept of purchasing power and its center relation to economic meassures.

In an international scale, getting 2000$ is better, inside a given country, purchasing power is more important of a meassure.
Thats why for example China doesn't beat the US in pure GDP but it gets the upper hand in GDP after PPP adjustment and thus considered the bigger economy. (it is the larget economy at the moment).
Purchasing power and price index along with income averages are the main parameters to hold when meassuring internal economic affairs.

  Many of the poor are literally homeless on the streets, or living in cheap, subsidized housing. Even many of those who work fulltime can barely make ends meet. Over the years Israel's toadies here have forced us to shell out over $200 BILLION to their favorite foreign country while millions here have no home or can't afford medical care...

Egypt would have to change its Gaza policy. They're not. There's the occasional opening of the Rafah crossing, but that's it pretty much.

If you want you can say they ought to increase the permits issued & so on, yeah, but they won't.

He did mention some Palestinians leaving the West Bank--no doubt the unofficial goal of Israeli policy--but not enough, or fast enough, to satisfy the Israelis in the long run, who will try to accelerate the exodus...

Yesterday minister Liberman said, Israel is the only country where Arabs are not fleeing. That's a problem honesty.
