Commercial media addiction is common in France, just like America. And mass media consumption does, in fact, have the effect of reducing viewers to greedy children who don't question authority, but instead, want to kiss its ass.
If you were a billionaire media-owner, wouldn't you want ass-kissing consumers who know nothing? Of course you would. Wealth is all about slave-owning.
And if you're going to argue that even though ass-kissing infants are what billionaires want, mass media doesn't work in creating them, then I really have to disagree. Media have ways of measuring their success, and if billionaires are still investing billions in advertising and mass media, it's because they know it works.
