No. I prefer an establishment that lectures me on racism and caters to loiterers over paying customers.

McCafe is a popular product of "Gaviña Gourmet Coffee" as far as I can find. These guys also supply Walmart's ground coffees. (which I like a lot.) They do a lot of blends for a variety of world wide tastes.

Bwhahahahaha! I knew this was going to blow back on Starbucks. I'm guessing the baristas will let Starbucks turn into a homeless camp until they shutdown again for further training.

Both Starbucks and Peet's are the same in terms of quality. Only a rightwing sissy would base their choice of "fast food" coffee on a story about black people using the bathroom or not.

It's not like the rightwingers in this thread, emotionally-charged about a story about a bathroom/loitering incident, have actually gone to a Starbucks and been lectured to about racism, regardless of that one story from a year of two back of some Starbucks store somewhere where they thought it would be a good idea to have political conversations with customers. But it's an interesting victimhood fantasy completely in line with emotional and delusional rightwingers imagining what goes on at their local coffee shop.

Ya know, coffee shops have a long history as a background for the ferment of revolution and avantgarde philosophy.

Does Peet's use Powder instead of Syrup for their non-coffee drinks(Chai, Matcha, Hot Chocolate, etc)?

If they do, they are obviously better than that fucken disgusting shit that Starbucks uses..... So no they wouldn't be the same quality. Peet's would obviously be better. Much better.

Bulaba, you don't understand: a black person's humanity was acknowledged. As someone whose sense of self worth is based entirely on the achievement of being born white this threatens me immensely.

Lmao look at this guy who needs permission to jack it in public.

Starbucks recently announced they were shutting thousands of stores down for 1/2 a day for "Personal Bias Training" or some such thing. All at once, I presume for a "podcast" kind of thing. Was that today?

I notice that their critics are decrying it as insufficient and think they should do 3 or 4 of these.

A bit of both I think.....

There is a natural perception of lax security and consideration for patron safety that comes with softening such rules generally.

But yeah she's been a rich bitch for a good while now.

P.s. they call it "Livestreaming" now, not "podcasting".... Just being a grammar nazi!

Concealed carry laws are loosening in many places … tell em to buy a gun and contribute to the general security.

Am I stating the obvious when I say that homeless people, be they black or white or any other colour, are usually not in a position to take showers very regularly or change their clothes very often. This cause many of them to smell strongly.
Isn't Starbucks a place where the yuppies go to drink overpriced coffees, socialise and sit around with their phones and laptops ?
Will those homeless people use the Starbucks toilets only to pee and shit but also to wash themselves, shoot up their drugs ?

It looks to me that this chain of coffee shops is not making the right decisions to succeed commercially.

I was on BART about a month ago, and someone took a shit on the last car of the train. Everybody crammed into the next car. Some liberal guy says cheerily, "Did anyone identify the source of the biohazard?" Honestly, I don't think people on the political left are too bothered by urine and feces. They are some really strange people.

I was accosted in a church public toilet by a crazy homeless looking angry bastard that wanted to kill me(amd had threatened to kill another parishioner that had been sitting in front of me) because I had been watching him acting suspiciously near a Church donation box(yes it was a Church Toilet! It was the CBD) and another time was asked by an apparent HIV suffering drunk Aboriginal man(who apparently had just come from watching football) with a dofflebag if I wanted to be immediately buggered in another CBD Church toilet.... At least he was nice enough to "ask".....

"The times they are a changing" Ter. I expect to see a universal income established within the US in the next 10 years. One way to resolve the social security / homeless / unemployed, issues.

Well I hope you are right but I think this is not going to happen any time soon in the US. Ectopic countries like Finland or Iceland might try this but the US, no I don't think so.
And even if it came to pass, don't you think that a large portion of homeless people will use their monthly allowance to buy drugs and therefore will remain homeless ?

Frankly no … I've known a few homeless people and associated with their friends. They generally aren't "Druggies" (maybe a little pot now and then.) Not even much alcoholism. Several I've known live that way to AVOID being sedated by "caregivers." It's an interesting subculture.
