No. Coronavirus is not malaria or dengue fever.

I voted Other.

I firmly believe that many people have caught it already and never realized it. I believe my family had it in January - Early Feb.

I think we should be checking people for the anti-bodies to verify.

25 million Californians projected to get coronavirus, Gov. Gavin Newsom says. Over half the state's population projected to be infected by the COVID-19 virus in eight weeks, governor says

But Newsom says that figure doesn’t take into account “mitigation factors” to contain the virus, mostly taken in the SF Bay Area and Fresno.

No, and I hope it stays that way for myself, family, and friends. We're all taking precautions.

My wife's had a cough for a week or so, but that's a cold. I caught a little bit of it, but just a tickle in the throat. I avoid coughing around people so they don't shit themselves. :D

You think it's funny, but it's pretty sad actually. Despite the constant (and justified) bashing of the MSM, MSM's fear porn still seems to be working very well.

No one asks for panic (say, crazy procurement of food and essentials), but I suspect those having the above mindset are possibly the ones most easily contact the disease and die, because it seems to reject everything one does not like as lies and fear mongering, while we are indeed talking about something that can make one die.

The MSM promotes non-stop fear porn when it comes to anything where they can push us into a certain direction that the elite desires. Haven't you noticed this by now?

I somehow believes the alternative promoters are equally bad if not worse.

I decide to follow neither.

All governments need the serological blood test method. This is what the S Koreans have been using. It is more sensitive than the Swab/PCR test, and faster. It also provides evidence of those who had it as well as those who have it, as you point out, so gives authorities good information for tracking the disease in the population. Without it, government’s are fighting blindfolded.

Of course the dumb arsed Australian government hasn’t been able to overcome it’s own red tape to get this test type in Australia. Instead they chid the public for using too many tests when swabs are reagents from overseas are in short supply. Yet none of these authority figures had previously advocated for pandemic preparedness.

Anyway, do I have it or had it? No idea.

I did stay home from work last week due to minor flu like symptoms. When I went to the doctor for a med cert, he sent me off to the pathology lab for a Covid-19 test. The lab told me they were overwhelmed with tests so I had to book. I booked an appointment for Tuesday but they rang on Monday night and to.d me they no longer participated in collecting samples for this disease. I was directed to the hospital fever clinic. When I got there the next day, they asked me a few questions and determined I had not been overseas recently nor been in contact with a known case. I as given a form to fill out and are back to the doctor.

So after six day run around, I still have no idea. I doubt it was anything more than the flu. But you see why the blood test is a better idea than the PCR test. If Australia had the blood test as used in S Korea, I could have had a result same day or next, rather than been stuffed around and told resources were too limited to test everyone. Furthermore, the authorities would have the information avaliable to contain spread from local clusters, again as per S Korea.

The Oz government didn’t take it seriously until too late and hadn’t bothered to get the testing infrastructure in place. They are racing to do so now but still haven’t committed to a blood test network like in S Korea. As with the face mask shortage, they resort to blaming the public for using limited supplies when it was their lack of preparedness that lead to these logistical shortages. Finally, celebrities and media support the government line. They don’t seem to be able to resist a chance to belittle the plebs. What a bunch of conceited snobs!

This is why it makes me angry they felt the public "wasn't grown up enough" to hear the virus be called a strain of the SARS virus. Snobby assholes at the WHO don't want their corrupt CCP loving shortcomings exposed.

China covered up another SARS Virus outbreak all over again, and the doctor that whistleblowed died yet again. The WHO thought it was going away, so no need to finish the vaccine yet, may not be needed again guys, there won't ever be a SARS virus pandemic UNLESS TERRORISM. Welcome to Communism still being their party governing ideology, even if unregulated Capitalism is their "public face" ideology.

P.S. IT'S RACIST TO CALL SARS 2 THE CHINESE VIRUS! So stop doing it! Pay no attention to the Winnie the Pooh wining and dining us behind the curtain!

Well, that’s right. There are many levels to this. The top end of town was in denial, since China is their source of wealth and power. Well, aside from that portion of their status that they get from being seen to be closely associated with the American political elite. The Australian unis response was telling. Get around travel restriction for students no matter what. Damn public safety, the unis wealth is at stake!

But there are more levels to the racism. One level was the elite using it to cower the public. But another level was many people watching the outbreak in Wuhan and never realising it could happen here. Cause, you know, Australia is superior to China so those diseases only effect them. Or something like that. And now they realise it not only can affect them, but is now here, they panic.

Even the government was guilty of that complacently and racist conceit. They should have moved on getting that serological test system set up starting in January. Had they done this, it might be ready by now. And they should have followed the SG example of calmly leading the public through hygiene and social distancing from January rather than denying there was a problem up until March. Now the public, having been told not to worry for so long, realises there is a problem and, predictably, panics. The political and cultural elites chide the public for it, but they are the ones in positions of influence and they did not use that status to prepare. It is the ones who make the choices who are responsible. Thus it is the media and political elites fault, not the public, that Australia’s response has been less than stellar.

My sister is in healthcare in ‘the lucky country’ and I worry for her. She’s on the frontline. They don’t use masks because they hardly have any :hmm: They’re trying to figure out how they’re going to deal with this virus, the flu season and immunizations. The telehealth thing is going ahead without formal Medicare ascent because, well, like most things the machine is unable to adapt quickly. Total shitshow and I wish I was rich enough to just pull her out of there :(
