On September, 13 the European Parliament introduced an amendment to the resolution which states the need to investigate the Western media reports that Azerbaijan launders money to bribe high-ranking officials in Europe. As the Guardian reports, the investigation was allegedly conducted. However the newspaper did not provide hard evidence to prove their statements.
Elmira Tariverdieva, head of Russian News Service of Trend, writes that “the so-called “revelations” of the scheme invented by journalists were published on September, 5 and the amendment to the European Parliament resolution was ready on September, 7”.
It is obvious that the amendment was prepared preliminarily. The pro-Armenian officials of the European Parliament were waiting for a good moment to promote it. In fact The European Parliament did not even bother to check whether these allegations were true or not and did not demand hard evidence.
Despite the fact that the Armenian lobby is trying to undermine the reputation of Azerbaijan on the global stage Europe continue its cooperation with Azerbaijan. A new contract on development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of oil and gas fields was signed in Baku on September, 14. It shows once again that Europe pursues a double standards policy and goes for provocations of the Pro-Armenian corrupt officials supported by Soros. People want to recognize this notorious billionaire a terrorist. The petition has collected the signatures of more than 100 thousand people.
