Churnalism is a form of journalism in which press releases, stories provided by news agencies, and other forms of pre-packaged material, instead of reported news, are used to create articles in newspapers and other news media. Its purpose is to reduce cost by reducing original news-gathering and checking sources,[1] to counter revenue lost with the rise of Internet news and decline in advertising; there was a particularly steep fall from late 2015.[2] The origin of the word has been credited to BBC journalist Waseem Zakir.

Churnalism has increased to the point that many stories found in the press are not original.[2] The decline of original journalism has been associated with a corresponding rise in public relations.[3]

I know the modern academics are all excited by this new tools of propaganda that and at times they get ahead of themselves thinking they might have invented something new, to the point where they might think they control reality itself. It is not so though, social consciousnesses of the people had been guided since the time of immemorial. One has to look at good example as China, there was good reason why Chinese decided to isolate themselves from the world until modern era. It was done with intention of preserving their own social structures, consciousness of their people and harmony in society they had established for themselves.

Granted, EVERYTHING is propaganda, but this one is more on the benign side if you take a moment to understand international politics.

Thus, I will say, trying to highlight this as some sort of sinister propaganda plot is kind of dumb.

Romania is in NATO along with a few other nations that are on the black sea. NATO is generally a "threaten one of us, and you threaten all of us" kind of an organization. Thus, it's not really hard to understand that they would scramble jets on behalf of Romania. That fact that they are in international waters doesn't really matter if the flight trajectory is close to Romania.

The fact that the UK is 2000km away is largely irrelevant when you factor in that NATO nations tend to support each other.

These people need to do a better job at finding more sinister propaganda.

The CIA’s Mop-Up Man: L.A. Times Reporter Cleared Stories With Agency Before Publication

A prominent national security reporter for the Los Angeles Times routinely submitted drafts and detailed summaries of his stories to CIA press handlers prior to publication, according to documents obtained by The Intercept.

Email exchanges between CIA public affairs officers and Ken Dilanian, now an Associated Press intelligence reporter who previously covered the CIA for the Times, show that Dilanian enjoyed a closely collaborative relationship with the agency, explicitly promising positive news coverage and sometimes sending the press office entire story drafts for review prior to publication. In at least one instance, the CIA’s reaction appears to have led to significant changes in the story that was eventually published in the Times.

“I’m working on a story about congressional oversight of drone strikes that can present a good opportunity for you guys,” Dilanian wrote in one email to a CIA press officer, explaining that what he intended to report would be “reassuring to the public” about CIA drone strikes. In another, after a series of back-and-forth emails about a pending story on CIA operations in Yemen, he sent a full draft of an unpublished report along with the subject line, “does this look better?” In another, he directly asks the flack: “You wouldn’t put out disinformation on this, would you?”

Dilanian’s emails were included in hundreds of pages of documents that the CIA turned over in response to two FOIA requests seeking records on the agency’s interactions with reporters. They include email exchanges with reporters for the Associated Press, Washington Post, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and other outlets. In addition to Dilanian’s deferential relationship with the CIA’s press handlers, the documents show that the agency regularly invites journalists to its McLean, Va., headquarters for briefings and other events. Reporters who have addressed the CIA include the Washington Post‘s David Ignatius, the former ombudsmen for the New York Times, NPR, and Washington Post, and Fox News’ Brett Baier, Juan Williams, and Catherine Herridge.

Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC Morning Joe says. "Controlling exactly what people think is our job."

Propaganda in the MSM is the tool of their trade to control exactly what people think.

People until now: lol stfu up tankie you fucking tankie boy tankie

That's not how it went at all. The US has been openly backing the opposition and using sanctions to weaken the regime for years and nobody is denying that. For the last twenty years tankies have been trying shift all the blame onto the US for everything that's gone wrong in that country by denying the regime's massive corruption, anti-democratic authoritarianism, and economic mismanagement. The tankies are as dishonest as the US corporate media.

Bush Administration Pushes for "Regime Change" in Venezuela

A little noticed retraction published in the Chicago Tribune on April 20 summed up the extreme prejudice of our major news organizations against the president of Venezuela: "An editorial on Sunday mistakenly said that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez had praised Osama bin Laden. The Tribune regrets the error."

Oops.
