This 56 min. video by Chris Hedges is spot on, even though it is from Jan. 2011.
His only error IMHO is that he didn't grok MMT [modern monetary theory].
Other than this small misunderstanding of economics, everything he says can be seen to have gotten worse in the 8 years since.
Therefore, the Progressive left needs to get reformed and/or reorganized to win hugely in 2020. This means half of the non-voters must get out and vote in the primary and general elections.
. . . There is nothing wrong with being Progressive, after all the Republican Party under Lincoln was progressive. It supported internal improvements, the trans-continental RR, land grant Universities, the Homestead Act, and ending slavery to give Blacks civil rights including the vote.
. . . Today Progressives need to get a Green New Deal and to rollback Neo-liberal economics. We MUST win NOW.! There isn't time to do it little by little. I predict that if Progressives don't meet in the streets soon to organize they will be defeated in the next election by the combined sell-out Dems and the crazy Repuds.
. . . We can't expect any support from the media, the MSM. As Chris says, it has been bought and is now owned by the 1%. The MSM will ignore the Progressives just like it ignores the Yellow Vest protests. We need to use the internet, but in the end only by meeting in the streets will we win. If you-all Progressives (you know who you are) don't win in 2020 then Civilization is doomed and maybe every person on earth will be dead by 2040.
