The entire history of the Israel-Palestine conflict summarized:

Palestinian dude: I'm a victim and you're an asshole

Jewish dude: No, I'm a victim and you're an asshole.

Is this what you tell your kids?

There was also this:

The 1948 Palestinian exodus, also known as the Nakba (Arabic: النكبة‎, al-Nakbah, literally "disaster", "catastrophe", or "cataclysm"),[1] occurred when more than 700,000 Palestinian Arabs – about half of prewar Palestine's Arab population – fled or were expelled from their homes, during the 1948 Palestine war.[2] Between 400 and 600 Palestinian villages were sacked during the war, while urban Palestine was almost entirely extinguished.[3] The term nakba also refers to the period of war itself and events affecting Palestinians from December 1947 to January 1949.

The precise number of refugees, many of whom settled in refugee camps in neighboring states, is a matter of dispute[4] but around 80 percent of the Arab inhabitants of what became Israel (half of the Arab total of Mandatory Palestine) left or were expelled from their homes.[5][6] About 250,000–300,000 Palestinians fled or were expelled before the Israeli Declaration of Independence in May 1948, a fact which was named as a casus belli for the entry of the Arab League into the country, sparking the 1948 Arab–Israeli War.

So you're on this side: "Palestinian dude: I'm a victim and you're an asshole"

And so the conflict and continues...

You realize that the surrounding Arab states militarily attacked the Jews/Israel right? That they aren't innocent either? That there's 2 sides to the story?

Israel and Palestinians/Arabs have both acted like huge a-holes many times. I don't feel sorry for either of them, only the ones caught in the crossfire.

Given the *actual history* why aren't you roundly blaming the *British*, due to the Balfour Declaration -- ?

The Balfour Declaration was a public statement issued by the British government in 1917 during the First World War announcing support for the establishment of a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine, then an Ottoman region with a small minority Jewish population. The declaration was contained in a letter dated 2 November 1917 from the United Kingdom's Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Lord Rothschild, a leader of the British Jewish community, for transmission to the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland. The text of the declaration was published in the press on 9 November 1917.

Why do you think Jews wanted to get out of Europe in the first place? Why do you think they wouldn't feel safe anywhere besides their own state?

"Zionism arose in the late 19th century in reaction to anti-Semitic and exclusionary nationalist movements in Europe. Romantic nationalism in Central and Eastern Europe had helped to set off the Haskalah, or "Jewish Enlightenment", creating a split in the Jewish community between those who saw Judaism as their religion and those who saw it as their ethnicity or nation. The 1881–1884 anti-Jewish pogroms in the Russian Empire encouraged the growth of the latter identity, resulting in the formation of the Hovevei Zion pioneer organizations, the publication of Leon Pinsker's Autoemancipation, and the first major wave of Jewish immigration to Palestine – retrospectively named the "First Aliyah."

Not saying Israel has acted like saints, far from it, i'm saying there's 2 different and valid victim narratives here.

Okay, but why *Palestine* as the spot? It's the *British* who chose it and *formalized* it.

Because more jews were already moving there and buying land there and they felt it was their historic native homeland.

The First Aliyah (Hebrew: העלייה הראשונה, HaAliyah HaRishona), also known as the agriculture Aliyah, was a major wave of Zionist immigration (aliyah) to Ottoman Palestine between 1881 and 1903.[1][2] Jews who migrated in this wave came mostly from Eastern Europe and from Yemen. An estimated 25,000[3]–35,000[4] Jews immigrated.

You're implicitly *validating* that event, of Jewish emigration to Palestine, when the Palestinian people *already* lived there.

You think that people's 'feelings' are enough of a justification for land grabs?

6 million murdered Jews in Europe from genocide is more than "feelings". In Europe they were literally trying to capture and exterminate every last one of them like rats.

I think the UN Partition Plan of 1947 was more or less fair. But then everything went to hell. Israelis and Palestinians and surrounding Arab states have frequently been bastards to each other ever since. The people who take sides in the conflict instead of wanting a peaceful 2-state solution are part of the problem.

You're getting the timeline all wrong, though.

The 'First Aliyah' that you mentioned happened from 1881 to 1903.

The British Balfour Declaration happened in 1917.

All the stuff you're mentioning now came *after* these initial incursions into Palestine territory.

Antisemitism in Europe didn't start in the 1930's.

The people who get angry at white people for stealing aboriginal land in the americas through conquest and colonization 500 years ago are the same people that don't give a crap that the Arabs did the same to the Jews.]

I'm done talking about this, it's so stupid. You either get it or you don't.

Well, you're not providing any *references* for what you're talking about, so, yeah, I don't think I'm a part of your little groupthink club, whatever that may be.

Israel fucking sucks and I'm sick of my government supporting them in a slow genocide of the Palestinian people. Fuck Israel, fuck zionism. Israel is an aparthied state and every single one of their citizens is invited to eat the shit from my asshole with a spoon.

Really? Palestinian survivors have longer lifespans than Libyans, Iraqis, Syrians, and Yemenis? Maybe Israel should extort American politicians into bombing Arab countries on a per capital basis so all OUR VICTIMS have the same lifespan.

Maybe the problem is that you haven't repeated your "opinion" enough. Just wait a month, and when the next thread that is critical of Israel comes up, copy and paste each of your posts from this thread, changing a few words to "integrate" the stale talking points into the thread's theme.

The statistic also includes American allies like Egypt. Even worse, the Palestinian life expectancy is only slightly lower than that of other allies like Jordan as well.
