The degree of vituperation in our political comments, notably among those in government, has reached a new milepost. The following is a quote.

“Anybody who thinks the election went well, like that idiot Krebs who used to be the head of cybersecurity that guy is a class A moron. He should be drawn and quartered. Taken out at dawn and shot.”

That statement was made by a man who is, among other things, a former US Attorney. He is apparently presently part of the legal team of President of the United States of America Donald Trump. His name is Mr. Joseph diGenova. The terrible unforgivable thing which Mr. Christopher Krebs did was not treason, an action which can result in a death penalty. Rather, Mr. Krebs said that this 2020 election “... was the most secure in American history.”

And so it goes in this nation, once a beacon for the world.

When was it a beacon for the world? When it was genociding the First Nations, or "attracting" slaves with that giant beacon in Africa? Perhaps as it was beaconning Latin American countries into submission?

Thank you so much for posting, T.

I hope my reply finds you in good health, and that the spirit of the holidays fills you and yours with the infinite joy of everlasting peace and goodwill and stocking stuffers. It's not always easy to find the time to post thoughtful political ideas as you have, and this can be especially hard with all the pressure of last-minute purchases for people who already have everything they need (and more!   :excited:  )

Remember to always use your turn signal when driving because this is important for the safety of other users of the road.

By the way, I like to respond to posts with a one day delay (or at least, a one hour delay) so if you don't see a reply to your post right away, fear not! I will probably reply within a few hours, or the next day. Stay wellness!

@QatzelOk

Hi!

For a number of years post WWII the US was considered by many as a country to emulate.

This is not to say that this nation was without fault, but simply a comment on perception. I lived through those years, and remember such things as the Marshall Plan.

To me, we reached our apex in the period immediately following the end of WWII. We as a nation had suffered relatively little damage. Our armed forces were the strongest in the world. We possessed the ultimate weapon of the time -- the atomic bomb.

We could have dictated a Pax Americana to the world.

We did not do so.

Therein lay our claim to greatness.

Regards, best to you and yours.

RSVP, but at your leisure. ;-)

America freed the slaves, gave the Natives casinos, and Latin America was fucked regardless the only question was who was gonna be doing the fucking? The home grown caudillos, the Soviets, or Uncle Sam? All in all everything worked out about as well as it was ever going to.

Translation into Truth:

The destruction of WW2 allowed American commerce to interfere with the political and social development of many "reset"ed countries.

They used this opportunity to destroy the cultural protections and economic traditions of the lands that "the American bankster class once called home."

The USA has no cultural protections or economic traditions. It's more like an army base with theme parks.

Keep staying well everyone! I can see clearly now the rain has gone.

You constantly embrace the role of the noble victim.

I have a bit of Neanderthal DNA and I am considering the idea of embracing victimhood. Our people were wiped out by the arrival of the Cro-Magnon man. Embracing victimhood is empowering.

Hi again.

Thank you for taking time to post a response. I've nothing further to add to this thread.

Dragged out and shot is a bit extreme, but I can see some anger forthwith after that jackass of a statement about this election being the "most secure ever".

Anyone who believes that is, indeed, a first class moron.
#15140546
If we assume that election security mechanisms are improved over time, and this seems to be the case with the USA, it would be logical to assume that the latest election was the most secure.

So do Defense lawyers when they're defending rape victims.

Why would you have a problem with this? :eh:

The OP quotes someone who wrote:“Anybody who thinks the election went well, like that idiot Krebs who used to be the head of cybersecurity that guy is a class A moron. He should be drawn and quartered. Taken out at dawn and shot.”

The election went really well.

No policies were discussed, the debates were like watching incredibly dumb and entitled high school jocks pretend to play "politician talk" in someone's mother's basement, and masked-and-scared USA consumers voted by mail or by pushing buttons on a machine invented by one of the interested parties.

Americans were so scared of "a virus" that they didn't care, and are just waiting for the "state" - the one that takes money from AIPAC and blows up half the world for money - to save them with corporate drugs and a huge surveillance state.

And all this... just after the market crashes and billionaires are anxious to "clean up" by stealing all the money and killing "useless nobodies."

Can't wait for the next election. (Will there be any more?)

The past cannot be changed.

As I said before: The Cro-Magnon man replaced the Neanderthal man in Europe.

That is the way it was: Nations invaded and raped each other constantly. The Vikings stormed and raped the Saxons for three centuries (The Viking age 900-1200 AD). The North of Africa used to be Christian and today it is Muslim. It goes on and on.

I used to smoke cigarettes, eat meat, and watch TV and movies. Cuba used to be a capitalist casino run by the USA mob. The USA used to have hundreds of languages and cultures.

All that has changed, so you are incorrect.

Being wrong is useful here because you have revealed one of the fake "truths" that our masters have taught us. "There is no alternative" is what serial-killers and rapists tell their victims so that they will resist less.

Who are your masters?

Do you think the USA was peaceful when it had hundreds of languages and cultures? Have you ever heard of tribal warfare?

I fully understand that embracing the role of the noble victim feels empowering, but it is a road to nowhere. Any psychologist will tell you it is not healthy to embrace victimhood.

The people that live in this era had no hand in what happened in the past At best you can only complain to the dead.

You should tell Defense attorneys to "stop embracing victimhood and let your client fry in the electric chair."

Your main debating "skill" in this thread is to demonstrate how important it is to "have a point" before you begin.

Your only point so far is "I want power." Who cares.

Please try to make a point.

It is not about power. But, I guess many see it that way. This is about practicality. You are fighting an uphill battle that cannot be won. Or you simply have resentment for the other side.

It's hard to argue when I don't really know what this thread is about.

Have you ever thought about including a few pix to make your "subject" clear to a larger audience?

Maybe it's just me, but I am finding it hard to participate at a level that is beyond empty trolling.

We have to ask what anger and bitterness and passion does someone have to be feeling in order to say such violent words to another person?

One has to assume Mr. diGenova feels Mr. Krebs has said something so disgusting akin to lies that threaten the American Republican. Whether Mr. diGenova is right or wrong about these lies, he still seems to have strong belief in his opinions of them.

There's very smart people who believe in bullshit without evidence, such as religion. As a cybersecurity expert and a lawyer, Krebs and diGenova are very smart people, but one of them believes in bullshit. Or maybe they both believe in a little bit of BS and a little bit of truth. We live in our own bubbles these days. Bubbles filled to the top with bullshit. Our new religions.

Hi!

It's important for us as we're bombarded with blather day in and day out to be careful and not fall into the trap of false equivalence. Does everyone say things that are not true? Chances are that, barring a very few really unusual people, the answer is 'Yes". That does not permit us to exclude consideration of differences in degree.

I am simply pointing out that you are way too centered on victimhood. You are also full of resentment and resentment is like taking poison and expecting your enemy to die. It does not work that way, you are hurting yourself. I once again state that embracing the role of the noble victim may feel empowering, but in the long run is not healthy. You do not want to hear this, I get it.

This is the truth.

Also, the US may be a beacon of light for some, but @QatzelOk is right in that the US isn't a beacon of light for others.

Life is about getting ground into the dirt and fighting back when you can while not letting anger and resentment destroy you in the process. It's a brutal chess game of moves and countermoves against a world filled with people trying to stomp on you to get ahead, and sometimes you will get outsmarted and lose a valuable chess piece, and if you can't get it back you tip your cap to your opponent, learn from your mistake so that hole in your game isn't exposed again, then worry about your next move...

It's ok to cry when you've been hurt, but if you're too caught up in the past you will never put it behind you and move forward. It's a lot harder to move forward when you're carrying the weight of the past on your back.
