Maga, there's your consolation prize..

Since WW2, an average loss for the party in power is roughly 30 seats. With the economy in rough shape, it should be TWICE that.

But Republicans may not get the senate, and their majority in the house will be thin. There will be a lot of issues where the House members from purple states will have to beg off.

Here in Maine, Dems did a clean sweep. LePage, our Maga Moron, got obliterated, Mills will remain in the governors office with 75% of the vote.

I predicted that this election was going to be bonkers, not exactly a tough call. I also said that women were pissed, also an easy call.

DeSantis was the big Republican winner of the nite, and Trump was the biggest loser. You can bet Biden is smiling, and will take an unexpected victory lap sometime soon. It's not on his schedule, he'll prob do an impromptu question session, and have a good time doing it.

Feel sorry for pollsters. It's becoming impossible to reach a good cross section of the voters.

Democracy won, Maga lost.

Don't forget about the stupidity of passing radical anti-abortion laws in states where most surveys show clear majorities or pluralities believe abortion should be legal in some form.

Had they passed European-like abortions laws, like that of MS that led to Dobbs (hardly a blue bastion), they would've done a lot better.

Experts on this sort of thing expect an increase in violence, they don't expect a civil war, but rampant terrorism is a possibility.

From what I've seen in the press '[white nationalist] domestic terrorism' is finally a nationwide concern and top political priority, according to polling.

It's weird, you'd think after the OK City bombing; that would have gotten peoples attention.

Domestic terrorism certainly has *now* -- !

Trump supporters gathered on the Ellipse to hear speeches from Trump, Rudy Giuliani, and others, such as Chapman University School of Law professor John C. Eastman, who spoke, at least in part, based on his memorandums, which have been described as an instruction manual for a coup d'état.[200][201] In a court filing in February, a member of the Oath Keepers claimed she had acted as "security" at the rally, and was provided with a "VIP pass to the rally where she met with Secret Service agents". The U.S. Secret Service denied that any private citizens had coordinated with it to provide security on January 6.[202] On February 22, she changed her story and said she interacted with the Secret Service only as she passed through the security check before the rally.[203]

The race which determines who controls the Senate may well hinge on a run-off election now scheduled for December 6th. There are yet a number of House races to be decided.

This poor old country mouse has put the election and its effects in a suspense file marked for opening in mid to late December. By that time, a number of probable law siuts will have had a chance to run their course and we should have a reasonably good idea as to House and Senate make-up.

Regards, stay safe 'n well.
