Donald Trump will be the Republican party nominee for president. He will lose the election interference case in Georgia but will appeal his conviction. He will win the 2024 election after the country suffers foreign and domestic setbacks and Biden’s mental capacity diminishes.

Trump’s case goes to the Supreme Court which, despite the conservative majority, upholds his conviction. He will be sent to a Georgia prison shortly before inauguration day, January 20, 2025. He will be treated like any other prisoner, with limited phone access and personal visits. He might be allowed a visit by a Supreme Court judge to be sworn into office.

He will not have ready access to the nuclear launch codes or regular phone communications with other government officials. In his first call as president, he will announce that he has fired all the cabinet secretaries, thus complicating any attempt by the vice president to solicit a majority of those officials, under the 25th Amendment, to enable the vice president to become president due to the alleged incapacity of President Trump caused by his imprisonment.

Meanwhile, Russian troops have been gathering near the Alaska border and China has sent a carrier strike group and troop transport ships toward Hawaii. As the constitutional crisis reaches a deadlock, with the U.S. effectively having no commander in chief, Russia invades Alaska and China invades Hawaii. Both states fall.
