Yeah, there tend to be many people in conservative societies with that sort of thinking. As India is too big, you can't generalize the whole country. For example Haryana is more of a Patriarchal Dystopia where you will find many with these sort of view whereas Kerla is a liberal paradise where you will find hardly any.

What? Wrong on every count. Religion has nothing to do with it, the perpetrators in this case were not Muslims. Why every second thread has to be about Muslims?
Neither there is some sort of "rape epidemic". Its just another bullshit soundbite nothing more. There has been no upsurge of any kind in these cases neither statistically India stands out or anything like that. Of course she is worst than developed countries in these and other social indicators but one should expect that.
