There is an idea, that scientists have been kicking around, that a sudden drop in emissions could set off dramatic heating, mostly in the Northern Hemisphere.

None of the expected scenarios were extreme enough for it to show up in the models.

But the situation we're in now, maybe.

This is more speculative than I would usually post in a science forum about a science. But the remote possibility that we may have cooked, or at least singed, our collective asses does hold a certain fascination.
