You and I have never heard about this. He says that it is happening up high in the air, and we just live up there. This doesn't mean it doesn't affect us. It does. In the winter the sun never shines in the Arctic. The air gets very cold. Usually it stays there, but with ACC it seems like the interplay of forces that are created by moving air (aka winds) breaks down, and this lets the freezing air move south in a kink in the Jet Stream. We saw the effect of this a few winters ago in Texas. It will happen more and more as the world heats up.
