Tell this to your God - the one who created the earth.

"I killed off half of your animals while citing the texts that you handed to some old Jewish guy on a mountain."

He will totally understand. You will not burn in hell for this.

Oh yes we were. And for believers, God was also there watching the whole thing while thinking up stuff to put in His holy books. Since the religious texts were written after most of these early human-caused extinctions (from the use of long-spears)... Believers must conclude that God must have not cared about these extinctions since He doesn't mention them or caution against them.

And when humans set foot on a new continent, waves of extinctions followed, according to experts.

In an article published in NCBI, the authors argued the timeline of mammal extinctions is closely intertwined to the first human colonization on different continents.

“And direct or indirect human involvement in these events is now widely accepted by most paleontologists,” the authors stated...

PNAS wrote:Across the globe today, populations of large-bodied mammals are in rapid decline (1–5). This is a continuation of an extinction event that has been ongoing for more than 100 ky. As humans became increasingly abundant and dispersed around the globe over the late Quaternary, a temporally and spatially transgressive extinction of large-bodied mammals followed
