(Y)F-22 vs. YF-23 - Page 4 - Politics Forum.org | PoFo

Wandering the information superhighway, he came upon the last refuge of civilization, PoFo, the only forum on the internet ...

Military vehicles, aircraft, ships, guns and other military equipment. Plus any general military discussions that don't belong elsewhere on the board.

And seriously if you'd done some research you would know that carrier groups were designed from the start to escort and protect shipping lanes on the high seas, not to get dangerously close to the borders of nations that can fire hypersonic guided missile salvos at them.

:eh: Because we cant launch planes from land.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, cry harder child.

I am not crying, I am simply overjoyed at this great advancement in technology. The ignorant Americans will have no idea what hit them!

Jesus think about what you type before you type it.

Think of a guided missile as a special single use suicide aircraft that can fly 10x faster than a standard aircraft, and maneuver 10x better, and which costs 100 times less per unit.

Now continue piecing together the puzzle from there.

Advanced missile technology is not exclusive to Russia. What you fail to realise is that this concept of 'air dominance' and 'aircraft win wars' is going to bite you in the ass, if all you have is an over-reliance on airpower, when you come up offensively against a country that emphasizes land based long-range missile systems in it's defensive doctrines.

No! This can not be true! Nooooooooooo!!!!

Tell me the ignorant American dogs have not also created a missile system to defend their greed-based capitalism! Please, let it be a cruel joke!

Fortunately for us the Americans, in their ignorance, have not thought of this. This shall truly be a great victory for the S-400 and for free peoples the world over. May we finally rid ourselves of the American oppression with this invincible new tool of The People! The ground will be littered with the wreckage of American aircraft!

I am simply overjoyed that all American military hardware is worthless.

I hate to burst Igor's S-400 bubble (well...not really), but an F-22 can drop a 1,000 pound JDAM at Mach 1.8 from 60,000 ft at a standoff distance of over 52 km, and that's without datalinking too.

In that environment, it won't matter how kick ass an S-400 is. It will be dead.

Since the S-400 can intercept precision guided weapons it would probably be a draw, the battery alone cannot see the F-22 at that range but has sufficient ammunition to shoot down anything an F-22 can throw at the battery...

One bomb, sure. But I'd like to see an S-400 shoot down an entire volley of 100 cruise missiles fired simultaneously.

Then we can talk about how effective they are.

What about LO-precision munitions?

Hell, i'll believe it when I see it. Especially when its able to function at all when being jammed by the F-22's radar, which is virtually a directed-energy weapon in its own right.

Well none of the air to surface weapons currently employed by the F-22 incorporate low observability features. Those that do like JASSM (hot topic at the moment) are generally subsonic and with an RCS in the region of 0.1 to 0.01m2 they should be detected in sufficient time to allow interception.

The APG-77 doesnt have the power to directly harm the S-300 (especially at stand off ranges), trying to use the radar that way would likely fry the antenna. The S-300 is considered very difficult to jam due to its high performance radar and range of guidance methods avaliable, even by deception jamming which the APPG-77 has supposedly been adapted to use.

We will never face Russia or China in a conflict that doesn't involve nukes. Why the fuck does the rest of it matter? :eh:

The S400 can't take out this, and neither can an F22...

The F22 is a sort of earth based space race. It has no practical use.
