The news went into overdrive today as the MACS airshow started as Zhukovsky in Moscow, after very little impact at other major aviation events like RIAT theres a lot to display and here are some of the highlights from the first day:
The big event is going to be the first public flight of the PAK-FA, with the aircraft slowly coming together 2014-2015 is the estimated in service date (will probably slip). With India now covering 35% of the development costs (some $6 Billion, compare with F-22/35 development costs!) it will be the principal jet of both airforces and will also enter the competition in Korea against the F-35, the first show down against these two aircraft.

Talking further of the F-35 which has rather oddly been compared with the MiG-35, in terms of role rather than performance if we get past the headline, so eventually a MiG-35 order may materialise after the blow of losing the MRCA competition to the Eurofighter and Rafale.

In other procurement related news United AIrcrafts Corporation plans to supply 20 new planes a year. Zelin commented on the need for Su-35, MiG-35, 120 Su-34 and modernised bombers. While Helicopters of Russia plans to supply 1000 helicopters by 2020, 450 this year. Ten An-124 are also on the cards, a big boost for Russian Military Transport in addition to up to 100 Il-76MD.
