I have a well made snow jacket labeled 'Made in Cambodia' and a lighter fall jacket 'Made in Vietnam' Americans visit there and rave about the friendly locals. What's wrong with those people! We killed them by the truck load, burned down their forests, screwed their women and ate their babies. I hope they got more than a lousy tee-shirt out of it...

The Vietnamese won, now they can make 'made in Vietnam' t-shirts, instead of 'Made in the USA' t-shirt.

Well they did get their freedom. Admittedly this does seem to have been exercised in the form of freedom to export textiles, but hey.

They did get to play around with the socialism thing for a bit there before they pursued more capitalistic economics under Doi Moi.
