So, I've developed a bit of an interest in the Spanish Civil War, the series of Civil Wars leading up the creation of the USSR, and the events leading up to the rise of the Nazis. I don't suppose anyone can recommend some sources to me?

For the Russian Civil War I've read and would recommend
- Red Victory by W. Bruce Lincoln
- The Russian Civil War by Evan Mawdsley
The former probably has a more political/social focus, while the latter focuses more on the strategic level. Mawdsley's book also covers the period prior to the Czechoslovak Legion rising better from memory.
