Now that you mention it, that is kind of true. Maybe replace it with "Patriotism" or something of the like.

Patriotism is nothing more than the love of one's country, and (usually) by implication, the government of one's country.

Does love not require a sense of duty?

It's kind of hard to describe conservatism because this forum is meant to encompass so many different types. Personally, I take issue with it being in the Ideology catagory at all, but that is probably an issue to discuss another time.

There is already a forum for Nationalism - I personally don't see the need to emphasis this aspect of Conservative tendancies.

I don't see a major problem with what it says now -

Traditional 'common sense' values & duty to the state.

If you were going to alter it, my suggestion would be to re-emphasis the pragmatic outlook, i.e. 'common sense'.

Something like:

"Traditional 'common sense' values & and a rejection of explicit ideology"

It's a description of traditional conservatism- as opposed to american conservatism or neo-liberalism.

Traditional conservatism: resistance to change

neo-liberalism: almost free market.

Just to throw one out there;
"The preservation of the status quo to ensure prosperity"

Ehh, waaaay too wordy for a simple description.

And since an admin/moderator might see this post, anyone mind moving my Libertarian thread from this forum to the Liberatarian forum?
