From Fox News to The Spectator, alt-right discourse has been normalised in mainstream conservative media

From print media to cable television, the alt-right are nibbling at the commercial hegemon of conservative media from the corners and enjoying some success, if not just mere amusement. Unlike broke and scattered leftist media which famously can’t sell toffee, the right-wing press is a billion-dollar industry that hypnotises hundreds of millions of eyes. If hard-right nationalists are able to get themselves a slice of the pie it would be more than just a leg up for a community that have thrived on Japanese imageboards until now: it could promulgate a nationalist phenomenon with serious political power, beyond the most far-fetched dreams of its founders who largely remain living at their mother’s houses.

Conservatives as conspiracy theorists was a narrative that was popular several years ago when the MSM still had some sway. Today it's not only tenuous but by deplatforming everyone who is a little loony as much as possible (Alex Jones etc.) it actually further weakens the conspiracy theorist narrative by making those people look less mainstream. Just more of the left not being able to think ahead when virtue signaling...

Or maybe "the left" is not "virtue signalling", but it's just commercial enterprises not wishing to be associated with or helping (malicious) loonies, for business reasons.

The marxoids are given credit for the sex lib, but that started happening on the back of more reliable contraceptions and the invention of penicilin. Marxists had nothing to do with that. They opportunistically ride on trends, they don't cause them. You are giving the flea the credit for being a mighty bear on the basis of a proboscis full of bear blood.

PR lol. That's their great power? That would explain how trivial they are if that is all they got.

The core roles and values were upended, it is just that after 2000 years of pervasive Christianity those core values have seeped so deep we have them all internalised. The core values of pagans before Christianity was the worship of power and prowess. Pride and greed are virtues! Christianity rotted that all away and made them vices. For the northern pagans being a priest was a woman's job, too girly for men, but Christianity made it a man's job for which women were too dirty to perform.

You aren't aware just how much the slant of your own world view rests on 2000 years of Christianity. The whole of socialism is just an unthinking atavism of Christian values.

"pride and greed are virtues"

How did you figure that one out?

Excess Greed leads to complete monopoly in capitalism which is bad for everyone.

Good thing on pride: "When pride distorts into smug over confidence or, a haughty feeling of being superior, always right, better than others...in short, Inflated Pride, then yes, it is considered bad."

The best pre-Christian philosophy, which is remarkably compatible with Orthodox Christianity, as said by many Orthodox Theologians, is Stoicism which has every good virtue in abundance.

I say it is implied by the old pagan mythology. For us there are no saints; meek, mild and half-starved from self-denial. We have instead heroes who cultivate prowess for greatness, for fame, fortune and glory. Fame is our immortality. Pride is the reward for success, for conquering, for victory and also the incentive to even try. Greed is the what gets us moving for what we want and make a life worthy of remembrance.

Odin has two wolves for companions, Geri and Freki, one name means Ravenous and the other Greedy.

Sorry but no. Greed leads people to do great works. Without greed why even get out of bed?

False pride, sure, but that is not true pride. True pride flows from real accomplishments and self-respect. It is true pride that is a virtue for pagans.

The "best" according to you is just that which most resembles Christianity.

1. Not strictly true. Actually, in much Pagan mythology which as you know, has many parallels with Christian mythology around the world, pride and greed are actually treated with greater disdain than in Christianity.

I bet you already knew this; seeing as you know about Greek mythology?

2. Okay let's be straight here; IMHO pride in the Bible = haughtiness etc. 'true pride' is not 'pride' it's actually self-confidence (christian virtue). The last bit where we differ is in sustenance via belief; yours could be self belief ('thou hast no power on account of thineself') which we disagree with OR belief in Divine strengthening power which sustains us; we agree on the latter.

3. Not true. I really do try to see things from all angles; and Stoicism is quite different to Christianity, but overlaps in many areas.

(Not sure if you missed a word out in that last portion of your post?).
