That's cool. I'm a Canuck living in Thailand. My wife is from Thailand, but her grandfather on her dad's side wore black pajamas in Vietnam.

How an your wife be from the USA and not be a septic? :?: ;)

MistyTiger wrote:Exactly. My father is always checking on his car and he can find out from AAA where there are good hotels and gas stations before he sets out on a trip. He believes in being prepared.

Of course you can do that. I don't worry too much about petrol/gas stations. My car can do 800+ miles between fills.

Hotels we usually check. Our dog goes with us, he likes travel, but we need dog friendly hotels. The satnave will find hotels and can call them via the HFT system.
Push a button to activate and it responds to voice commands.

You know what septic rhymes with?
Do know about the Mason-Dixon line?

Yep, I have a friend who's from London, and he uses lots of slang.

I left my dog and bone inside your jam jar.

Right, so she's not a "northerner". :D

From Georgia. The state, not the country by the Black Sea.

I had a colleague who used Cockney rhyming slang all the time although he wasn't a Cockney or even from London.
"Yer dog's barking" he'd say.

Oh my god, I cannot believe they are using science to now justify almost everything, "genes for longer school performance"

Are we really just androids at this point? that's ridiculous. I don't think your ability to perform in school is even really an indicator of intelligence; most individuals who were considered "geniuses" in the past all hated the educational system. If you want an answer for why there seems to be a decline in inventiveness and genius, then I guess you get the answer right here.

Albert Einstein was a Jew; the Germans were white supremacists and Einstein fled Germany before it escalated and got too severe and he helped America invent the Atomic bomb...

Just going to put that out there. He also hated the school, and was considered a failure in most aspects of conventional life. He was an idealist, a socialist, but not a communist.

It's best not to worry too much that the answer is basically yes.

It's a myth that Einstein did poorly in school, though I agree that intelligence doesn't necessarily mean you did well in school.

I am glad I don't drink much water. I drink milk and fruit juice. Maybe that is why I am still smart.

Your fruit juice is probably made with tap water. Just saying.

I used to own a water distiller, if was amazing how it would caulk up over time. Right now I am living in a country that doesn't fluoridiate its water so I am using a standard pitcher water filter and hoping for the best.

People have been getting dumber for a long time. At one point education increased your fertility, now it decreases it.

I don't think there is a retrograde trend in IQ. IQ is something quire different from knowledge. People with very high IQs tend to do better in school. It would be a mistake to conclude that unusually smart people dislike school. They may find it tedious but they have little problem doing well.

It is far to say of IQ, that if some one deviates low they face challenges. If they deviate high they face some as well.

This is occasionally a topic of discussion at meetings of Mensa and Intertel. What is often expressed is societies' disinclination to look for innovate ways to deal with those who deviate high. A person with a 140 IQ IS different from most others. His/her perceptions of the world in which they live are frequently quite different from the norm. IQ tests are usually designed by people of Average intelligence. Or perhaps a tad over.

I would recommend spending some quality time with a high IQ person who you respect and who is comfortable with you. I think it will be an eye-opener. IQ is real. The perception of what IQ means is quite different when you ask someone with a very high one. I have taken people to Mensa meetings before and they frequently find the people difficult to understand. As one girl said of joining Mensa to meet a mate, "The goods are odd but the odds are good".

No good. I think (((they))) put hormones in the cows so (((they))) can control the population through the milk. No doubt this is one of he reasons people are getting stupider. (((They))) want the people that way as they are far easier to control like that.

Maybe we should just stick to drinking wine, beer, and whiskey. But what about cancer? Is there anything we can now eat and be healthy?

I believe tea is mostly made of contaminated water and so is coffee.
So wouldn't that just mean you are going to get stupider?

Looking at what some of the posters are talking about, I'd say that yes, at least Americans are getting stupider, anyways.

Most water in modern countries, that's not in the USA, is not contaminated.

America's water crisis goes beyond Flint, Michigan

But hey, Trump'll get rid of the EPA and you won't know about this stuff happening anymore. :knife:
Ignorance is bliss, right America?

Apparently the EPA did not do a good enough job under the 8 years of Obama. So maybe the EPA should be fired.
Trump seems to be the right man for that job.

How will getting rid of the EPA make things better? Please explain this argument.

If the EPA is not doing a good job, then it seem logical at least one of them needs to be fired, if not the whole lot.
