The carbon dating has been proven wrong by several methods. One is that the the carbon 14 dating was from samples of the cloth from an edge that has been shown to have been repaired by reweaving cotton thread to the original linen cloth. So the main body of the cloth was not dated. Another reason is indicated in the video. So it has to be older than the cabon dating revealed. And as the man in the video stated, "that is a fact."

Of course. Note the holy joes didn't object to carbon dating, or where the pieces to be dated were taken, until results showed it wasn't from the fist century. Even without the dating there are no references to the shroud older than the 14th century or so. Also interesting are some remarks by an Israeli archaeologst:
1. No cloth dating from the first century (Mediterranean) has survived because the climate is too humid.
2. For reasons of modesty whoever made this thing elongated the arms greatly.
3. It's been known for centuries that you have to nail high on the arms to keep the body upright on the cross.

Yeah, that is unlikely, but the cloth had been removed from the gravesite since the first century. That is why the grave in Jerusalem is referred to as the "empty tomb". The reweaving was verified by several textile experts. The time of the reweaving is not clearly known, but it is believed to be sometime later than the carbon 14 dates. That seems very likely because there would be a mixture of new cotton threads with the old linen threads that were being dated. I believe the following video can explain it better than I can:

What a convenient discovery, surely an independent group has carbon dated the middle of the shroud since then? you wouldn't perhaps wish to provide a link to actually prove the date you claim instead of linking to reasons why the evidence that it isn't that old may be false?

No it has not been carbon dated again, because it is a very sacred artifact for the church. It is not likely the church will allow someone to destroy the middle of the cloth to carbon date it. They only allowed the original carbon dating because the sample was taken trom the edge of the shroud where it had already been damaged.

There is other evidence that it is much older that the carbon dating, such as the Sudarium of Oviedo.

Anyway, Carbon dating has often been inaccurate and the reason assumed to be because of contamination.
