Sickening, utterly sickening that this Film should portray the Germans and Ludendorf as evil while remaining completely silent on the Ottoman Muslim genociders. Is there no end of the anti WIG (White, Infidel Goy) racism that we must endure? We WIGs are the people who invented human rights, civil liberties etc. Does anyone imagine that Muslims, Jews, Chinese, Blacks or Americana Indians would ever have come up with them on there own?

Potemkin wrote:In fact, in my opinion the twist in the plot actually saved the film from being merely an anti-German propaganda movie. The portrayal of Ludendorff is absurd - the historical Ludendorff was certainly not a murderous drug-addicted psychopath who staged a blood-soaked coup d'etat to keep the War going. Up until the twist at the end, Wonder Woman might as well have been made in 1917 by the British Ministry of Wartime Propaganda, rather than in 2017 by Hollywood.

But then Wonder Woman slays the 'evil' Ludendorff, and... nothing happens. The War continues as normal. And then that nice British gentleman appears and politely explains to her that, in fact, he is Ares the God of War. Smiling benignly at her, he informs her that the Armistice is merely a ruse and will be merely a temporary ceasefire which he knows neither side can keep. And, historically speaking, we know that he is right. John Maynard Keynes said even at the time that "this Armistice is merely a twenty-year ceasefire." The real villains here are not the Germans, and not even the British, and not even Ares himself, but our own desire to dominate others and to slay our enemies. And even Wonder Woman herself had fallen into that trap by slaying Ludendorff. By trying to end the murderous killing machine of the Great War, she had herself become merely one more part of that killing machine.

That was indeed a very good plot twist at the very end, saving the movie from being merely anti-German. But the villains' strength did not add up and it became apparent, even far before the final confrontation, that Ares was someone else than Ludendorff or the mad scientist. It was this anticipation that deserves critique; Ludendorff should really have been the main villain, even in such a way that his ambivalent words would be interpreted as him being Ares, up until his fall when Ares would reveal himself as another person in the final battle's redux. That would have made the twist even bigger.

What surprised me is how thin skinned a Guardian propagandist can be (his articles are favorite by our resident BDS spammer). Maybe, he realized that "peace" or "human rights" campaigner is just a jihadi useful idiot. Because of the controversy in the Arab world, many can't separate the actress from her nationality and they project their own bad faith on the film. The thief has a burning hat.

Peace can only come when the issues which led to war have been resolved, one way or the other. There could only be final peace between Germany and the other European Powers in 1945, not 1918 - the issues between Germany and the European imperialist nations had not been resolved in 1918, only postponed. German armies were still on the front lines in 1918, willing and able to continue fighting, and no Allied army had set food on German soil. Germany's grievances had not been resolved by the Armistice, only exacerbated. Another great War was inevitable, as people like Keynes could clearly see. It was only in 1945, with Germany's crushing military and moral defeat, that the issues which had led to Germany's wars from 1870 to 1945 were finally resolved (and not in Germany's favour). This is the thing about war - it resolves things. Without war, social, political and other problems would fester and become worse and worse. The crushing defeat of one side or the other in a war resolves matters once and for all. Peace resolves nothing.

I am a Communist. This means that I am not, and cannot be, a pacifist. So long as the capitalist system exists, there will be exploitation, class oppression, brutal imperialism and endless wars to secure resources and markets. How can it be otherwise? The capitalists talk about "peace", but they are merely expressing their desire to be left in peace so they can continue to rob the world blind. Likewise, the British in 1918 wanted an Armistice, but they only wanted it so they could be left in peace to continue running their world-spanning Empire without being troubled by revanchist upstarts like Germany. Nothing was resolved by the Armistice of 1918, just as nothing would be resolved by the 'social peace' between the capitalists and the proletariat which Social Democrats and liberals dream so fondly of. You are an Israeli, noir. What do you think would be resolved by a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians right now? Likewise, and by the same token, what do the Palestinian people think would be resolved by a peace deal with Israel? This is why neither side really wants a peace deal. It would merely be a temporary ceasefire before an even bigger conflict. And would that necessarily be a bad thing? Some things can only be resolved through conflict. Germany's crushing defeat in 1945 resolved a great many things.

I thought the Guardianists are anti British, anti national, anti imperialist, anti patriot. Seems they are just anti American and anti Zionist. Wasn't aware to the nuance.

The Guardian is the rag of choice for nice middle-class British liberals. Far from being anti-British or anti-imperialist, it is actually pro-British and pro-capitalist. Its pacifism is the pacifism of the fat and contented, who merely want to be left in peace to digest their latest banquet. The bellicosity of the Americans and the Zionists gives them indigestion - any conflict might threaten their privileged position in the world. And we can't have that, can we?

When people try to paint this as a "both sides" issue as though there isn't an armed-to-the-teeth-plus-nukes side versus a doesn't-even-have-an-army-collection-of-refugees side, or claims apartheid isn't a system in Israel that's enforced by its own laws, I do have to

There was never a plan for peace, but a plan for Israel to take over the entirety of Palestine. Which is happening.

I am boycotting Wonder Woman too. Not because of any Jew-Muslim stupidity. I am protesting the steady stream of garbage that comes out of Hollywood under the heading of entertainment. Superheros are some of the worst. And then there's the big explosion, car chase, action movies. Legs apart, sticking the muzzle of a gun in your face. Real intelligent stuff.

Not to mention Moses. He could turn his Staff of Power into a snake, or cause water to gush forth from solid rock by striking it with his Staff of Power, or part the Red Sea just by raising his Staff of Power into the air. And Joshua had some pretty nifty superpowers too - making a city's defensive walls collapse just by marching around it blowing trumpets? Awesome! 8)

Where do you think the Americans got this shit from anyway? It's probably no accident that Superman was created by two Jewish guys from New York. ;)

Moses was a king philosopher, not exactly entertaining. Samson on the other hand, is absolute comic character properly attached with a busty love interest. Their story is sexy and adventurous. The propose was was probably to boost the morale of the Israelites during the setbacks with the Philistines. Just as Superman, WW and Captain America was created during WW2 and the Nazi menace.

Hollywood superhero flick, 40's style

Hedy Lamarr who played Delilah in Cecil B. DeMille's Samson and Delilah, (1949) was Austro Hungarian Jew. Just like Za Za Gabor and todays Israeli models-turn-actresses Bar Refaeli (Hungarian ancestry) and Gal Gadot (Czech ancestry).

So the modern Jews have polluted their blood with the goyim? Didn't they have rules against that sort of thing? :eh:
