Anarcho-capitalism is perhaps more closely linked the libertarian tradition than anarchism as it favours a free market and a stateless society. Private businesses would replace the functions of the state. This form of anarchism is largely an American phenomenon and first emerged in the 1950s (although it arguably has its roots in 19th century individualist anarchism and classical liberalism). Key thinkers include Murray Rothbard.

I love that the same ideology that has ultra-capitalists also has room for left-wing communists. Anarchism is bourgeois individualism made utopian.

Engels wrote:Therefore, either one of two things: either the anti-authoritarians don't know what they're talking about, in which case they are creating nothing but confusion; or they do know, and in that case they are betraying the movement of the proletariat. In either case they serve the reaction.

All anarchism, including anarcho-communism, is individualistic in that it seeks the liberation of the individual from all authority -- whether from the state or from the capitalist. The fact that we are also communitarian simply reflects that the individual can only be liberated when society itself is liberated. Describing such individualism as "bourgeois" is just a slur used by Marxists to belittle our unwillingness to trade one master for another(the fact that this individualism is directed against the bourgeoisie be damned). Fortunately, the black star of anarchism is rising these days as the current Left finds more inspiration in the EZLN than in the Bolsheviks.

I'm not sure if that's true.

Mexican socialism has strong allegiances with the Catholic Church stretching back to the Mexican Revolution and Cristero War.

American anarchists, however, are predominantly secular.

are all the stars black? i thought there were other colors to denote the type of anarchist you are?

Black is the traditional color of anarchism. Different factions of anarchism have used some other color in combination with black, the most common one being red-and-black, which was pioneered by the Spanish anarchists in the 30's to represent the alliance of anarchism with the labor movement. Other color schemes include green-and-black by green anarchists and anarcho-primitivists, purple-and-black by anarcha-feminists, pink-and-black by queer anarchists, white-and-black by Christian anarchists and anarcho-pacifists, and more recently, yellow-and-black has been used by anarcho-capitalists.

The tie breaker was totally stupid. It really seems to be a draw between anarcho-communist and anarcha-feminist.

There are non-capitalistic forms market anarchism such as Proudhon's mutualism. American individualist anarchism has similar themes. Out of all of its theorists, Lysander Spooner probably came closest to modern anarcho-capitalism, but even he opposed wage labor, and believed everyone should be able to work for themselves. So all of them opposed wage labor, and most of them opposed private property in favor of possession(i.e. taking what you can personally use), but they did support free markets. I personally view Proudhon's mutual credit idea as a good transitional step toward a gift economy.
