OK, we need a name. "Pofoland" or whatever is just really stupid.

It should be a Scandinavian-type name. I happen to have a lot of Norwegian and Swedish friends, I'll ask them for suggestions in a bit (busy ATM)... but brainstorm, we'll just choose the best. The other good ones can be names of specific parts (islands etc).

I know that we have "Greenland" and "Iceland" and "Vinland" and "Newfoundland" and stuff... looking for something more exotic.

Quick example would be something like "Akrar" (arable fields) or "Hefn" or "Hofn" (harbor, haven) or "Eyju" (island)... simple to remember, but distinctive.

That's a fine long verstion, like "People's Republic of China"... but what is the short? It can't be "Pofo", that'd be confusing.

Another option (not necessarily sinister) could be Utgard (Útgarðar in old Norse), meaning outyard (or less literally but more accurately, outland), and another home of giants. This could reflect our distance from our urheimat.

Need a comprehensive history, so the name has to be picked, even if we change it to a modern form.
