This is the official confidence voting thread.

There are two coalitions that have put themselves forward to form a government:

The Grand Coalition of the PUC-PNL-SLD-CA

The SN-RF & THP Coalition

This vote will be the official vote of confidence on both the coalitions.

Each party or individual MP (depending on the party's internal rules of voting; no seat may vote twice on either confidence motion) may vote once on each motion. Any party casting a vote should specify the number of votes it is voting on behalf of its members. Any individual MP casting a vote, should specify the party the individual belongs to help prevent double-casting.

If a party votes and an individual MP does not, it will be assumed the MP voted with along party lines. If both an individual MP and their party votes the same, the seat will be subtracted from the party's vote so the party's vote tally is equal to the party's total number of seats. If an individual MP votes differently from their party, the MP's vote will be counted, the party's vote on behalf of that MP will not be counted.

Motion 1:
The Grand Coalition of the PUC-PNL-SLD-CA shall have the confidence of the house and form the first government.

Motion 2:
The coalition of the SN-RF & THP shall have the confidence of the house and form the first government.

Voting will close at 10:30pm Central Time (GMT -06:00) on Tuesday, April 28th.

The CA casts its 7 votes in favour of motion 1.

The CA casts its 7 votes against motion 2.

Sephardi,

You must specify which way you vote on the motion. Also, the CA as a party has casted, so it is not strictly necessary for you to vote. But if you do specify your vote, we will subtract your seat from the CA total votes.

If my party doesn't have to engage in bloc voting, I vote Motion 2.

That depends on your party's internal rules.

My party is against bloc voting, but it seems like all other parties are for bloc voting.

What happens when party rules give a person more than one seat and that person votes against the party?

Bloc voting is always tied with electoral results, Zyx -- hence it reflects the will of parliament.

Anyway, this thread is not for discussion.
