All we have ever seen so far is various attempts to create a socialist society, both economically and politically. But the world has not produced one case of a finished, stable, functioning socialist economy. So your statement is false and reeks of capitalist propaganda.

In fact, the need for socialism has nothing to do with incentive or what is "better" in some abstract way. It's a case of capitalism collapsing in crisis, worse and worse, because the very strength and purpose of capitalism has been fulfilled and it is now eating itself and us, bit by bit.

My comment was in response to Agent Steel’s post. When you chose to read it as a criticism of socialism in general, it was due to you taking it out of context. I agree it has never been allowed to prove itself, but few ideologies are able to due to every ideology battling to be the ideology. My ideology promotes giving them all a chance.

I think my reply is important. You in particular may choose to see it as an expression of agreement with what you said and further elaboration. We could debate the idea of "giving them all a chance", which I don't think is possible.
Cheers

It is quite possible. All they have to do is give up the idea it must be universal. Personally, I believe Socialism is a reasonable ideology for local communities and a terrible idea for populations in the millions. I know it has been tried on a small level, but it to was never given a full chance. I have the same objection to most ideologies based upon the great wisdom of “different strokes for different folks”. :)

People who are smart take advantage of people who are dumb.

Therefore it's only fair that we dummies take back from those smart people on top in order redistribute amongst the poor and disadvantaged.

They used their advanced brains to take our money now it's only fair that we fight back.

We need to organize huge protests and march to the white house demanding they give us their hard earned money.

Some do. But most help people who are not as smart by being more productive. Henry George noted that "lack of scruple" was a major factor in getting rich, and it is true that lack of scruple only works if you are smart. Dumb people who lack scruple just end up in jail or dead.
Therefore it's only fair that we dummies take back from those smart people on top in order redistribute amongst the poor and disadvantaged.

That would be fair if everything the smart people on top have represents what they have used their brains to take from the dumber people. But most of what smart people have represents their greater contributions to production. That said, the larger the accumultion of private wealth, the less likely it is to represent contribution and the more likely to represent use of privilege to take from those who do contribute.
They used their advanced brains to take our money now it's only fair that we fight back.

You need to think about the difference between using superior brains to contribute and using them to take.
We need to organize huge protests and march to the white house demanding they give us their hard earned money.

Think about HOW the smart have acquired their money, not just THAT they have acquired it. Some smart people like Elon Musk and Steve Jobs have made tremendous contributions to earn their wealth. Others, like Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, and Jeff Bezos, have done it mainly through monopoly privilege. Still others, like Bernie Madoff, have done it through outright scams.
