One cause of inflation is pumping money into the economy that is not linked or matched by productivity. COVID relief funds are one such source. But one possible, unexamined source of money injected into the economy is the estate wealth of people who have died from COVID.

About 75 percent of the people who die from COVID in the U.S. are senior citizens. Liquidation of their estates, such as property and savings, has probably pumped several billion dollars into the economy. In addition, their families also had additional disposable income if they no longer had to pay for assisted living facilities or services.

Admittedly, this is a morbid analysis. But is it valid and is the amount of wealth transferred significant?

You can’t blame this source of inflation on Biden, but you could blame part of it on the vaccine deniers and mask haters who caused extra deaths among the elderly.
