Paul Jones on the chiliastic panic that underlies The Singularity:

The biggest singularity in physics of all is the singularity where we think it all began – the Big Bang, a singularity in time which it is unimaginable to see through, just as the end of the universe in a big crunch provides a singularity in time which we can’t conceive of seeing beyond. Now we enter the territory of thinking about the creation of the universe and the ultimate end of the world, which of course have long been rich themes for religious speculation. This connects us back to the conception of a technologically driven singularity in human history, as a discontinuity in the quality of human experience and the character of human nature. I’ve already argued at length that this conception of the technological singularity is a metaphor that owes a great deal to these religious forbears.

metaphysics. Physics is the study of perpetual displacement as nothing existing remains what it was upon arriving in the moment here.

Imagination can work two ways, follow a faith or find one's way back to knowing time isn't a linear exponential.

You need two things comparable, English Alphabet and periodic table of molecular characteristics.

One is used to create vocabulary by lifetimes already existing needing a means of communicating ideas and the other is what shapes every form adding into the expoential total sum of what this universe remains now in every position specifically spaced apart currently.

Random selection still is picking from specific displacement. It is like miliions of male reproductive cells each able to create a completely different lifetime, but only one fertilizes the egg. Now expand that to a population of specific ancestors male and fmeale individuals being the bodies supplying those reproductive cells. Again specific displacement and random select doesn't change how and why this moment is the absolute zero spaced between did and does specifically continue now, individually.

Eternity as a singularity creates eternal never duplicated total sums of genetic compounding, ancestry to the ancestors specifically spaced apart in this atmosphere. It applies to every species of plant, animal, predator, prey, male, female, hunter gatherer, farmer, butcher, baker, candle stick maker.

Race, creed, color, national origin, gender bias, political ties, spiritual bonds, economic means, are all contexts of what if this moment isn't absolute zero of everything expanding as inorganic details and contracting ancestral results.

Instincts has a knowledge intellect never wants completely revealed to every added lifetime in this atmosphere. The games people play will bring the extinction of all just adapting to the moment while specifically here and not understanding what here is exactly.
