Would Plato come back to life, so that he could be humiliated by a modern day female socialite? - Page 17 - Politics Forum.org | PoFo

Wandering the information superhighway, he came upon the last refuge of civilization, PoFo, the only forum on the internet ...

For importunate arguments and postings imponderable to virtually all forum members. Though their authors might believe the only problem is everyone else's impercipience.

In general, that's a reasonable definition, but in the context of Last Summer, it seems to be a recurring motif that authority figures are always a subsequent state to fun and entertainment

When Helen Shivers gets killed, for example, the parade is the cause of Helen's death because it is after the fisherman - and just prior to Helen's death, when she's in a police car, the bars that separate her from the police officer can represent the error of the police officer being seen "before" Helen

There are alternate ideas though:

The parade = authority

authority = after

After causes death, therefore authority causes death by being after

It could be the other way around, but whichever way it is I think it's more or less certain that the movie is preoccupied with the morality of the chronology of authority and entertainment
