So, Prez Assad of Syria has been killing off thousands of his own citizens. Dealing with even the hint of criticism of his rule in the most brutal way, but the Syrian dictator has become, with one speech, the adored hero of every anti-Israel activist and "human rights" agitator".
Why? Because he said this:
"Our enemies work every day in an organized and public fashion to hurt Syria," Assad said. "Our enemies' aim was to divide Syria as a country and force an Israeli agenda onto it, and they will continue to try and try again."

http://www.theisraelproject.org/site/ap ... t=11152089

With gthese words Assas earned the adoration from the usual "human rights" suspects! Even though Bashir Assad's own father, former President Assad of Syria & a fan of British sit com "Dads Army" used to refer to his son as "stupid boy!" Western anti-Israel activists look to Bashir as a hero in the "anti-zionist" cause!
Easy for them to beleive the bloodshed in Syria is all the work of dastardly Zionists, just as they had previously branded the ethnic Africans in Darfur being murdered by the Arabist Sudanese regime not as victims of racism but as "Zionist pawns"

Moshe as usual you exaggerate. Not all anti Israel activists support Assad many don't and many rightly criticise him and the Saudis for fuelling civil war. But let's not also pretend that the Israeli government is a champion for human rights amongst its Arab neighbors

Israel is very asiduously keeping out of what is happening in the Arab countries.
What i pinpointed was the irony of some self styled "humans rights" activists in bigging up a bloodthirsty dictator like Pres Assad.
George Galloway was big mates with saddam & Assad. Baroness Tonge cosied up with Hamas & Ahmajinidad, & so on.
If there are any of those vocal enemies of Israel who have criticised Sudans genocide in Darfur or Assad's mass murder of his opponents, I would be surprised to hear about it.

What's even more sad is that these bigoted "champions of human rights" cry crocodile tears for every Hamas militant being killed (and usually lie about it, calling it "unprovoked attacks against civilians", "ethnic cleansing", "perfecting methods of disposing with people" and other utter nonsense).

Yet mum's the word when it comes to the wholesale slaughter the filthy Assad is committing. Israel has killed less Palestinians in 100 years than he has killed his own civilians in 1...

Very true

 You guys should really stop this group-hug of yours.
Your belief people who oppose Israel's apartheid, also support Assad's gross actions, is rather disgusting and way off the mark.
This is so transparent.
You can't defend your own country's racist attitudes, so you attack its opponents by presuming we might also support common butchery.
Not only is this transparent...its quite typical you you Zionists.
Make unfounded accusations in an effort to shift the focus.

But it's a fact. Someone like you who claimed "Israel perfected methods to dispose of people developed by hitler" and screamed "LOOK AT THE NUMBERS! LOOK AT THE NUMBERS!!" (but then of course couldn't provide a single number to support this idiotic claim) are completely silent vis a vis the wholesale murder committed by bashar and asma, eh, I mean the rose in the desert.

You Sir...are full of shit!
But hey...how else could you defend Zionism.
They've been lying to the world for about 100 years now.

Goldberk wrote:There is nothing that cheers a Zionist up more than seeing someone more psychopathic than themselves, they would love a world full of Assads just to make them look good.

The funny thing is is that it is exactly these psychopaths who are making up the nonsense about the Israelis.

See "the rose in the desert" interview in youtube were she sheds crocodile tears for the poor poor palestinians ("this is the 21st century...where can things like this happen...?"). Might as well be looking in the mirror GB.

I don't see any Israeli bashers standing up to defend Assad. Even Hamas have distanced themselves from the Assad regime.

Reuters wrote:Feb 24 (Reuters) - Leaders of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas turned publicly against their long-time ally President Bashar al-Assad of Syria on Friday, endorsing the revolt aimed at overthrowing his dynastic rule

You're welcome to check out the Syrian uprising thread in the today's news section. It is full of Israel bashers cheering on the slaughter.

And "surprisingly" I haven't seen anyone of the "champions of human rights" here who routinely blame Israel of "ethnic cleansing" whenever a Palestinian militant is killed, shed any tear for the 14,000 (and counting) murdered Syrians.

Goldberk wrote:That's because zionists have selective vision, there are plenty on here and beyond who support the Palestinians and oppose Assad and other arab tyrants, lets not forget who gave support to the tyrants of Egypt before the revolution.

It is NOT "Zionists" slaughtering the Syrian people. It is the anti-zionist Assad regime.
It is not "Zionists" in Egypt seeking to reverse the liberal reforms introduced by Mubarak with regard to women. It is the "anti-zionist" Islamists

Wow, talk about trying to display the unrelated as being related. This is like saying that because there are Anti-zionists who shop at Safeway supermarkets, means everyone who shops at Safeway is an anti-zionist. As usual, Moshe and his grossly over exaggerated accusations make him look like a fool again. It shows a lack of finesse (as well as empathy) to pretend you care about what is happening to people in such tragic circumstances when all your doing is using their plight as a smoke screen to distract people from another conflict your trying to make excuses for.

The anti-zionist crowd call events in Syria a "distraction" & openly support the ultra reactionary Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.
The anti-zionists try to portray Israel and "zionists" as being "the root of all evil and unrest in the middle east". This is no different to traditional anti-semitism where Jews are seen as "the root of all evil".

The mayhem in the Middle East is not because of Israel but in spite of Israel. Sadly, it reflects a deminishing of Israels power in the region. For decades Israel by its presence was, almost unwittingly, the glue that binded the warring Arab world together & stopped them sliding into all out war & conflict with each other.
With Israels power deminishing, we see the Arab world unravelling.

The situation in the region is interesting. The two big powers in the region, Israel and Iran, are not arab & both are losing influence.
Egypt was once a major power in the Arab world, & for decades a force for stability & progress in the region, now does not even have the power to govern its self.

The situation in the region has always been alot more complex than the simplistic "bad Jews, good Arabs" synopsis presented by the anti-Israel lobby.
