Do you actually think that Labour will win an election with Corbyn as leader?

Do you actually think that Labour will win an election with a Blairite as leader?

Perhaps not. But if it can only win an election by becoming more Tory than the Tories, what's the point? This tribal attachment to parties needs to end. What matters is policies, not what colour tie the guy making the policies is wearing.

Indeed. Which is all the more reason why it should collapse and die, and be replaced by something more representative of the people it claims to speak for. It can't win in Scotland, and is in danger of losing a lot of the north. With the exception of a handful of decent MPs, it is largely filled with homogenised, bland, thought-free cretins who express open contempt for their own supporters. Why exactly should we want it to be saved?

Real Labour would keep the name of course. Keir Hardie did not found the Labour party to be a bunch of millionaire centre right shit munches. Why should the Blairites get the name? They only want to keep the name as they know any honest name would make them unelectable (who would vote for the Blairite party or the Neo-Tory party or Mandleson and Co?). They need to live off the love that still exists for the achievements of the real Labour party (NHS in particular).

The labour membership is roughly split into 3.

1 The traditional working class - many of which have turned to UKIP
2 The activist crowd which includes momentum. These are a curious mixture of radicals, hard leftists and hipster leftists. Many are probably middle class.
3 The modern "new labour" types, many of which are not big fans of blair.

I think corbyn certainly does represent the first group but not the third.

The question is does he really represent the first group? Certainly not on immigration which he refuses to even admit to being a concern. This is very arrogant of him

So who are Blairites exactly? I know who Tony Blair is. But what do they stand for, are they still socialist?

New labour and the third way https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_Way

During the 90's and early 00's it was used to define the split between the blair supporters and the brown supporters. It was also used to indiciate those who supported the new way of doing things and the traditional "old left".

It doesnt mean so much anymore as very few actually like blair much. In fact many of those who quit are quite far left and were hand picked by corbyn.

Also, even certain corbyn supporters like Diane abbot are not really traditional hard left people. They are more "cultural marxists" and professional ethnics who are riding the hard left to push their radical "liberal" agenda. They dont really care about class warfare. They care about identity politics and giving as much money away to foreign poor people as possible.

It was obvious from prime minister's questions today that Corbyn has no support from Labour MPs, and Cameron couldn't answer a question about the future because he won't be leader. PMQs was a waste of time today.

By calling the referendum and then losing it, Cameron managed to break the political system in Britain, has possibly broken the UK as a union and has even possibly broken the entire EU. It's awe-inspiring. :D

I honestly didn't think we would ever have a PM even worse than Asquith (even Thatcher only got to 2nd worse spot), could Cameron surpass even him to be the absolute most useless in the whole history of this ancient nation?

Quite possibly, Decky, quite possibly. :)

Who needs a Communist revolution when we have toffs like David Cameron to crash and burn the system for us? ;)
