This doesn't seem to bode well for the future. Neither the "lesser of two evils" framing nor "they're both the same" framing can be fitted into a Manichean war between good and evil. Original Christianity didn't fight over the "faith vs. works" dichotomy. That is stuff for people who politicize things, or reduce the bible to one-liners. The idea is a very close analogue of what Evola called "contemplation vs. action". Any fair assessment is that either one can be appropriate at different times. Donald seems to have a better understanding of Catholic thinkers than anyone else on this site.

As for Trump, you just get the feeling like he cares. A person who doesn't care and is in it for themselves will say anything, then do another thing. Trump is pretty consistent and that is what draws people (Christians included) to him, more so than anything else he has said or done.
