1 Merkava 4, the Merkava family decided the 6 days war, they can adjust the barell so deep like no other tank, so M 4 can hide behind hills or Sand and snipe 95% undestroyable. Merkava provides the best protection for the crew. German saying a Tank is made in 1 Year, a Crew in 20 Years.

The newest version provides M4 a active defense Start Trek shield against rockets, explosive shells and even bombs...

2. Obrum, Best IR and Radar protection.

3. Armata T-14

Newest russian tank, but small can due to physics not get as much the newest version of T-92, by explosions. A turtle can turn on the back. Like all Russian Tanks has he a thin turret. T-14 is fast and efficient.

4. Abrahams M1, Uran Armament. The Massive.

5. M-95 Degman, the continuation of the M-84 who had as one of first smart ammo and laser guidence, even with full drive he can hit, and is cheapest with electronics. During Kuwait-War, the Kuwaitis menaged to destroy with M-84 3-5, Sowjet made Tanks.

You have no taste at all. :*(

1) T-34 for obvious reasons, saved the world etc.

Image

2) Churchill Crocodile because it had a flamethrower.

Image

3) Tank Mk 1 "Big Willie." It is a fine name.

Image

4) The Pokpung-Ho. An entry from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea here. This is the shield that keeps imperialism at bay from one of the few nations that manged to fight the American empire off on the battlefield historically and their new designs keep the ravenous beast too scared to come back to this day.

5) The Chnese Type 59, a tank that fought against enemies of the people to keep the workers party in power in the battle of Beijing (photo included).

You don't like Apocalypse Tanks, Decky? The great Soviet tank that crushed (literally) enemy of workers world over. Next what, you no longer think that armed Russian Bears are a deadly or viable weapon system? :eh:

As far as I know Leopard 2 is the best.

Then M1A2 Abrams and T-14 Armata come next. Merkava is also good I think, but I don't really know much about tanks.

That's a great picture. The tanks look like designed by a 10-year-old, but they're obviously effective enough against unarmed civilians.

Top 5 is difficult, especially without any historical or apparently reality constraints.

1) M4A3 Sherman Easy 8

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M4_Sherma ... M4A3E8.JPG

Far ahead of its time, this upgraded M4 variant has one of the longest service records in history and was actaully preferred for its ruggedness and reliability over heavier tanks, such as the M-26 Pershing or M-48 Patton.

2) Challenger II, LEP

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Challenge ... 148325.jpg

Regarded by many as the finest tank in the world, the Challenger 2 combines heavy armour, advanced electronics, a rifled 120 mm cannon and 1200 hp diesel turbine engine.

3) T-72 A or M

Arguably the most influential tank ever designed, the ubiquitous T-72 is still the mainstay of many nation's tank arsenals worldwide, over 20,000 having been manufactured.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-72#/med ... rt2-21.jpg

4) Renault FT

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_F ... e-1918.gif

The single longest serving tank in history, the Renault light tank was far ahead of its time and hugely influential on all future light tank designs through both world wars. George Patton and Dwight Eisenhower cut their chops with Renault FTs.

5) Panzer V D or G variants

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panther_t ... her%22.jpg

The equalizer that ended the T-34s dominance on the Eastern Front during WW2 and influenced all future medium and heavy tank design. The late models were equipped with advanced optics and night-fighting capability and could certainly have continued in service for many decades into the post-war period without being out matched.

Merkava vs. T-14

Wrong. The Merkava has nothing to do with Six Day War in 1967. It was developed 30 years ago, by a general who fought that war, Israel Tal. In Six Day War, the IDF fought with British Centurion. And also with American tanks, Patton and Sherman

Are you saying that those tanks were able to take on that guy alone, completely unaided by infantry, artillery or tactical air support? Wow I'm impressed.

By the way is it true that guy was just looking to hitch a lift home, with some heavy shopping and got mistaken for a political protester? Anyone whose hitched will know the problem, a lot of drivers can be quite evasive about telling you where they're going.

Yep, the active protection is going to be the trend in the future. U.S. is screwin' around with moveable armor. :(
