Far-right leader Marine Le Pen promised on Sunday that she would be a president who puts France first as she formally propelled a battle resounding a large portion of the subjects that impelled Donald Trump to the White House.

In a discourse in Lyon, the National Front (FN) pioneer assaulted “mass migration”, globalization and “Islamic fundamentalism” and said that people need France “which owes nothing to anybody”.

What do you think? Is she good choice for France?

My fingers are very tightly crossed that Marine LePen will indeed win the French general election. In the US you probably don't realise the significance of this. LePen will initially take France out of the Euro, and then hold a referendum on EU membership. The French public are as fed up with the EU as the Brits are, and will almost certainly vote OUT. France's immigration policies have been as bad as the UK's, and as a result ghettos of immigrants and Muslims have infested their green and pleasant lands. If France are to leave the EU, the EU will collapse. This would be the most significant thing the western world has ever seen.

And then what? You think the EU is responsible for the "evil Muslims" in France and the UK? Think again.

In fact Schengen rules are pretty clear. Asylum seekers must be registered and apply for asylum in the country they arrive in.

If a country chooses to leave the EU, I don't see why they would have a problem with disregarding the treaty. :hmm:

France is not an entry point for asylum seekers. It has every interest in enforcing the treaty. The same holds for the UK.

Why to you think Switzerland is part of it? Because we can send asylum seekers back to Italy. Well at least as long as Italy properly registers arriving refugees. Which it is obliged to under the treaty.

The problem for countries like France is not Schengen, but the lack of enforcement.

P.S. Most Muslims in the UK and France didn't arrive as refugees anyway.

The problem is 'One Degree', Brexiteers haven't got a clue. For some unknown reason they think the best thing for the UK is for Europe to have potentially the biggest financial crisis the world has ever known (exit of the Euro), for it to fall into disarray (the fall of the EU. Continental Europe needs to remain united), and for the whole continent to turn far right (history says otherwise). Regardless whatever happens post Brexit, due to geography, the EU will always be the UKs biggest exporter/importer. Like every business relationship, you need your biggest clients to be financial viable and reliable. You think Le Pen will give a shit about the UK if she wins the election? You think she cares about migrants crossing through the channel tunnel? I think not. She will have France solely in her master plan, and like the Brexiteers before her, her plans will fall at the first hurdle should she win the election (but won't happen). If France wants to become a big global player, they need to vote Macron. Centrists are always the best candidates.

If Centrists are always the best plan why is France and the UK in the state it is. LePen will win, and the EU will tumble. A corrupt organisation full of bureaucrats earning a mint for doing nothing more than writing ridiculous legislation. Only 4 countries put in more money than they get out, and France/UK are 2 of them.

In which case there are about 4 countries they will get to before reaching France. LePen would stop the immigrants entering France, so hopefully their passage to the UK would be made that much harder.

Let me see.
Donald Trump won in the US turning the government into a plutocracy.
The EU is starting to fall apart, with right wing surging across Europe.

Does anyone of the intellegint members here knows what usually happens when Europe goes far right and stop being united ?
Well, good luck for the future. You're gonna need it.

A daily opinion poll publication continued to show far-right leader Marine Le Pen losing the French presidential runoff on May 7.

The Opinionway poll, published on its website shortly before 1100 GMT (6.00 a.m. ET), showed Le Pen scoring 25 percent in a first-round vote set for April 23, with independent Emmanuel Macron on 22 percent and conservative Francois Fillon on 20 - scores that would put Macron into the runoff against Le Pen.

Macron would beat Le Pen 66 percent to 34 percent in the two-way runoff. Fillon, were he to make it instead of Macron, would beat Le Pen with a score of 62 percent versus her 38 percent.

A new French poll showed that Le Pen will lose the French presidential runoff either way. Macron would beat Le Pen 66 percent to 34 percent in the two-way runoff. Fillon would beat Le Pen 62 percent to 38 percent. Emmanuel Macron was a member of the Socialist Party (PS) and he will get all socialist votes in the second round, making him a better candidate than Fillon. Macron supports the third way policies which were followed by Bill Clinton and Tony Blair.

If you can't understand that a plutocracy was in power prior to Trump's election, then you don't understand the present situation in America.

I do understand that it already was there, just now it not only became open and public but also got a lot worse.
The US is a capitalist country, ofcourse there is a plutocracy.

100 of the top companies in the US have come out against Trump and you see this as the Plutocracy getting worse? :?:

What countries do you think are in a better state than France or the UK, that have not had centrist politicians? I presume you count Blair, Brown and Cameron as centrist if you're claiming the UK is now in a bad state, and maybe May as well, so you're looking for successful politicians outside that range.

Yep, and just about every poll indicated we would stay in the EU, and Trump would lose the election LOL

We have only ever had liberal, centrist and left wing governments. I long for the day we have a proper right wing government
#14774195
Prosthetic Conscience wrote:What makes you think right wing governments would make countries a better place? Spain had Franco for a few decades - did he make it a better place than the centrists who followed him?

It all depends on your definition of right wing I suppose. As it happens I have some socialist values, and hate the fact the top man is earning a million, whilst his workers struggle to pay the bills. What I really want is a government that is lead by common sense, and not political correctness or liberalism. A government who's concerns are with the beliefs of the majority, and not one who is always trying to appease minority groups and feminists.
