One Degree wrote:It is. :D Or do you think what is going on in Western Australia, California, Eastern Europe, Catalonia, etc. is just a coincidence. Independence movements are everywhere, and each one just waits for the right circumstances to make their move. Large nation states are unnatural and they are being undone right before your eyes, yet you believe it is not happening, and I am denying reality.

How do some separatism and nationalism prove people want to live in city states? They rather want nation states and they seem to prefer Fascism over Libertarianism.

As a matter of fact if you want to live in city states, you should rather support globalism, as it favours regionalism and free trade and movement of people between regions and cities or conglomerates of cities and their agglomerations without national borders.

I am all for free trade among citystates. Political autonomy does not mean isolation. My proposal of citystates is to give structure to the inevitable to avoid some of the problems.
Just ask yourself, how many large nations are not held together by threat of military intervention? How many large nations allow part of their country to vote to secede? We are occupied territories and many people resent that. Large nation states are unnatural because they require force to be held together, and therefore people will abandon it at the first opportunity. It is inevitable.

We just don't know what is inevitable. Maybe some meteorite will hit the Earth some day and collapse is inevitable, but it's just a feeling. However, some separatism like that is in California is due to globalisation actually, not some feelings against the nation state. As global trade grows they are getting connected to the other side of the Pacific more than the rest of the US.

It is interesting that Trumpophiles cannot possible accept that trump, basically, fucked up financially. I only studied one of his fuck ups/bankruptcies; the one around 1990.

A lack of focus was not Mr. Trump’s only problem. The updraft in the real estate market of the ’80s turned into a headwind by the early ’90s, and more than $3 billion in loans — $900 million of which were personally guaranteed — went into default. Dozens of banks came calling and, after lengthy negotiations, a meeting was held in a large conference room in the law offices of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, the firm that represented the largest lender, Citibank. There, some 50 bankers and lawyers watched Mr. Trump sign over nearly all of his properties — the Plaza, other buildings, the shuttle, the yacht, the jet — in exchange for more favorable terms on his personal guarantees.

The banks shopped the Plaza around, without success, for a few years before finally selling it in a deal that valued it at $325 million to a partnership between Prince Alwaleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia and CDL Hotels International of Singapore in 1995. None of the proceeds went to Mr. Trump, according to several people involved.

So ........... trump paid $407,000,000 for the Plaza and, a few years later, the banks took it away from him and sold it for $325,000,000 and certain Trumpophiles would have us believe this and other financial fuck ups are simply a demonstration of trump's genius :?: .

Well anything is possible, but we have wandered off topic. I will conclude my off topic comments by suggesting you just quickly gaze through this list of active secessionist/autonomist movements. Just a minute I lost the link.

Their hero just must be a fucking genius and an exceptional businessman who made America great. As a matter of fact he's somewhat exceptional indeed. Exceptionally corrupt and maybe broke too.

here is still no actual evidence of Trump-Russia collusion. Thus far, the Russia collusion story still lacks any proven quid pro quo exchange. Finding out that presidential campaigns dig up dirt on opponents isn't a major scoop either.

As Mr. Wonderful would say, "We'll see."

Like July 17, 1972, the date of the Watergate break-in, Trump Junior’s June 9, 2016, Trump Tower meeting has become the load-bearing date upon which the greater scandal rests.

All the expert lawyers on every news outlet have said the meeting did not break any law. Nothing to see there folks. HalleluYah.

Even the lawyers on CNN Fake News say the same thing, as Irump's lawyer Jay Sukulow points out.

Everyone trump hires is an infuriating human being, it's like trumps only interview question is whether or not you could drive a nun to murder.

Is it really all that surprising that people get sick of their shit?

OMG..............trump's lawyer was defending trump? I guess that clinches it...........

Hindsite, this will take weeks/months to play out. Be patient. And BTW, shame on you for patronizing a "news" outlet other than Fox Fake News.

 agreed. I doubt Mueller's bothered about it per se, Trump will pardon himself. He's looking at stuff he can get state charges laid for, and any tax crimes

Trump owes much of his business success, and by extension his presidency, to a flow of highly suspicious money from Russia. Over the past three decades, at least 13 people with known or alleged links to Russian mobsters or oligarchs have owned, lived in, and even run criminal activities out of Trump Tower and other Trump properties. Many used his apartments and casinos to launder untold millions in dirty money. Some ran a worldwide high-stakes gambling ring out of Trump Tower—in a unit directly below one owned by Trump. Others provided Trump with lucrative branding deals that required no investment on his part. Taken together, the flow of money from Russia provided Trump with a crucial infusion of financing that helped rescue his empire from ruin, burnish his image, and launch his career in television and politics. “They saved his bacon,” says Kenneth McCallion, a former assistant U.S. attorney in the Reagan administration who investigated ties between organized crime and Trump’s developments in the 1980s.

Praise the Lord. HalleluYah

It is only suspicious to left-wing nutjobs. Those so-called oligarchs were Russian businessmen. All those dealings in Russia were listed on his financial disclosure. Nothing more to see there folks.

It depends who is looking. Semion Mogilevich is definitely a Russian business man  .

It’s entirely possible that Trump was never more than a convenient patsy for Russian oligarchs and mobsters, with his casinos and condos providing easy pass-throughs for their illicit riches. At the very least, with his constant need for new infusions of cash and his well-documented troubles with creditors, Trump made an easy “mark” for anyone looking to launder money. But whatever his knowledge about the source of his wealth, the public record makes clear that Trump built his business empire in no small part with a lot of dirty money from a lot of dirty Russians—including the dirtiest and most feared of them all.

Praise the Lord. HalleluYah.

It doesn't seem possible to me. However, I am glad to see that you seem okay and the hurricane hasn't hindered your posting. Praise the Lord.
