Point number 1 would be meaningful without the constant turnover. Which is always a sign of good leadership, you don't want the cobwebs of institutional knowledge and experience gumming things up.

Lol you are projecting heroic qualities onto a fat, senile moron who can barely get a coherent thought out of his mouth and can't find his own car when it's 3 feet in front of him. This latest round of lionizing is somehow lamer than your previous "Trump is the qua shark qua Rand spoke of" or whatever her dumbassed rhetoric was.

Hu Angang, an economist at the School of Public Policy and Management at Tsinghua University who advises the government, said that Mr. Trump’s decision could begin a vicious cycle that would hurt America’s reputation more than China’s economy.

“I think Trump is not professional; he doesn’t understand the global situation,” he said.

Mr. Hu added that China may be replacing the United States, with Mr. Xi picking up the banner of global cooperation on trade, climate and other issues that Mr. Trump’s predecessors had carried.

“After 40 years of being students, learning from our teacher,” he said, “now it is the time for the teacher to learn from its students"

Global markets shuddered on Thursday as investors began to take seriously the prospect of a trade war between the world’s two largest economies.

Stocks in the United States fell for a second-straight day, as President Trump announced $60 billion worth of annual tariffs on Chinese imports, and concerns about growing trade tensions mounted.

The market just voted with its feet and the verdict is that Trump, Mnuchin and Ross arent't fit to run a lemonade stand, let alone conduct national fiscal and economic policy.

The US has outsourced its manufacturing jobs to China and other low-cost countries.
This was to the benefit of the industrialists and the shareholders.
And the US ran up a huge trade deficit in the process.
Now that some of those jobs might be coming back, the stocks got a beating.
Good. Fuck the shareholders.

Next, America should stop the madness of the HB1 visas. importing hundreds of thousands of lower-paid IT workers that displace the American indigenous workers.

Levelling the playing field is a good thing.
And fuck the economists who say otherwise.

Oh, and also fuck everybody who says that we need millions of uneducated immigrants to prop up our populations. There are ways to manage a society with a shrinking population.

That will be all for now, stay tuned.

I wonder whether who helped Trump find the proper target which is a big fat thing right before him like his own limo was. If he means to wage a spectacular trade war anyway, it should be waged on China, they don't export such fancy cars as the Germans do though.

It never fails to amaze me, the way that the most ardent proponents of unfettered capitalism constantly whine about the inevitable effects of unfettered capitalism, as though there is no connection. We've seen another example of this just recently in Britain, with the Brexiters whining about the fact that a European firm has been given the contract to make the new British passports. Well, guess what assholes - the free market is working exactly the way you wanted it to work. You've got what you wanted, and now it's not good enough? Fuck off.

It seems as if China is preparing to "bring back some jobs" in about 128 American goods. All because we wanted to disrupt our own economy, raise prices on consumer goods reducing our standard of living, shedding thousands of jobs in other sectors, to produce a few hundred steel jobs in a few years.

Everyone seema to think the market will care about their personal nonsense value. Nationalism in the case of the passport example. It's a valueless system that gives you no considerations.

At least I want some healthy regulations, market interventions, welfare, etc. To rub off the worst edges. Not a unfettered free market. It just infuriates me that people want to do that while ignoring how the market works. Tariffs will not help people, but they sound like a lot less work so people would rather ignore economists and do it anyway.

If you accept that you are going to live in a capitalist system you have to understand it and work with it, not bumble around teary eyed that the market God's don't respect your favorite industries or where your passports are made.

If you can't accept that then embrace socialism, not anti-intellectualism and conspiracy theories.

It's easy to say fuck capitalism, in a reactionary trolling manner especially, which is like saying fuck time I'll never die, and even if I will I go to heaven. Both time and capitalism say fuck you and there's no heaven.

It's also ridiculous to believe Trump will restrict capitalism, the very system allowing him to leech on society. There'll be some shitshow for the peasants, but he's in the pocket of the Chinese too. I'd be surprised if they hadn't bribed him yet.

"Economist", today it is synonymous with people who want globalism and best profit for the corps. This is what protectionism looks like. There will be shock to the economy first because it has come to be so much dependent on global trade, but markets will balance out.

It is an irony that it took a guy from business to finally bring protectionism to USA.

They were well paid to study those "things" and what an awful mess they made of it.
What is the benefit of bringing in hundreds of thousands of low-paid tech workers from India at the cost of American jobs ?

Anti intellectual conspiracy theories that justify you not having to engage your pet beliefs with reality are fun aren't they.

All those cough well paid cough (((economists))) have shown measurable positive net impact of imigration including on the job market for Americans.

They took our jerbs is a stupid meme used as cover for xenophobia.

Precisely my point, Beren. The people like Ter or Igor et al. who love them some free markets yet hate the effects of those same free markets are caught in a double bind - their only way out is to put all their faith in a fat orange oaf who promises to give them capitalism without capitalism.
#14899080
Orange oaf is going to fuck us all. It's one thing to want to kill the market and replace it with socialism but when you go to war with it for the funsies with no goal or idea of how it works we are going to just have worse outcomes overall or an outright depression induced by a trade war.

But foreigners are scary and I vaugely dislike shareholders and bankers. :|

Indeed. Still, look on the bright side, Mike - with a bit of luck, the fat orange oaf's bumbling on behalf of his Know Nothing support base may just trigger the final crisis of the international capitalist system. We'll put up statues to the oaf after the Revolution. Orange statues, naturally. ;)

Schumer does not agree with you.

Schumer praises Trump's China trade crackdown

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) heaped praise Thursday on President Trump's decision to crack down on China's trade practices.

"I don't agree with President Trump on a whole lot, but today I want to give him a big pat on the back. He is doing the right thing when it comes to China," Schumer said from the Senate floor.

He added that "unfortunately, previous presidents, Democrat and Republican, just stood by as China did what it did to us. President Trump is exactly right."

Trump is expected to announce on Thursday new tariffs against China in light of an investigation into intellectual property theft.

Democrats have pressed Trump for months to get tougher on China. They were critical of his steel and aluminium tariffs in part because they felt they didn't do enough to target Beijing.

Schumer added on Thursday that he is "very pleased" with Trump's latest move. "I commend him," the Senate's top Democrat said.

"Today's announcement by the president will be a great start in that direction. Democrats, Republicans, Americans of ever political ideology, every region in the country should support these actions," he said.
Personally I believe he is trying to capitalize on Trump's move, but nevertheless here you go.

Why are you suddenly talking about conspiracy theories ?
It looks like you are running ahead of yourself.

mikema63 wrote:All those cough well paid cough (((economists))) have shown measurable positive net impact of imigration including on the job market for Americans.

I am pretty sure that "positive impact" is mainly good for the shareholders and the haves.
And once they become citizens, for the "Democratic Party" because those new citizens mainly vote for those Democrats.
At least be honest about that.

Beren wrote:It's also ridiculous to believe Trump will restrict capitalism, the very system allowing him to leech on society.

Whatever you say, Boss, but in the meantime Trump is reducing the trade deficit with his tariffs and that is not kosher according to the capitalism bible.

I find it strange that you say these things, Pote, because you have no idea what I do and if I enjoy the free market or not. To elucidate a bit, my career was in multilateral and bilateral Aid Agencies and as advisor to various companies. I cannot be outsourced.

The international capitalist system and the US with it will be saved by China and the rest of the world. The USA will be bailed out and reintegrated into the global system after they've lost the trade war or just gone bankrupt. Trump statues will be erected as replacements for Lee statues.
