13 April on Friday the U.S. and its allies Britain and France launched more than 100 missiles against Damascus. The U.S. used two US Navy ships in the Red Sea, tactical aircraft over the Mediterranean, as well as the U.S. B-1B bombers from the area of Al Tanf. Donald Trump ordered to carry out the operation. The CNN report states that "conduct coordinated and targeted strikes to degrade the Syrian Regime's chemical weapons capability and deter their use." After a while, British Prime Minister Teresa May and French Defence Minister Florance Parley stated that the British and French forces also participated in the attack.

The coordinated actions of the three great powers should have left Syria completely destroyed. However, according to reports of the command of the Syrian army, no one was killed in the attack. The Syrians managed to shoot down part of the missiles developed using advanced technologies of the military-industrial complex of the world's leading countries. They made with air defense systems, released in a state that does not exist for 25 years. I'm talking about the USSR.

But from the other side the alleged chemical attack in the city of Douma in Eastern Ghouta was just a reason to strike, which was supposed to cover all tracks of the stage. Realizing this, Russia addressed the UN with a demand to send an OPCW mission to the site of the tragedy to investigate the use of chemical weapons. Washington, that believes publications in social networks, but not reports of specialists, immediately stated that the U.S. would strike chemical laboratories in Syria.

The UN agreed with a reasonable demand of Russia and sent its experts to Syria The mission should have begun its work on April 14. And a few hours before the arrival of experts of the international organization in Damascus, the U.S., Britain, and France launched a missile attack against Damascus. Apparently they aimed at those laboratories and chemical weapons sites, which they must have destroyed several years ago. The absence of the dead Syrians only confirms the liquidation of these objects. After all, in there could not have been employees. I would not be surprised if several missiles deviated from the path and exploded in Douma, so that the OPCW experts could not investigate the site of the incident. It's good that the British special services do not cover the tracks of poisoning Russian spy in Salisbury.

The Americans killed two birds with one stone:

First, Trump promised to strike Syria and this strike was launched;

Second, the OPCW experts may not fly to Damascus for security reasons.

But most importantly, The U.S. violated international law, attacked a sovereign state without the UN approval. And if the world community does not condemn the actions of Washington, London, and Paris, it is impossible to predict which country they will strike next time.

Not killing anyone was kind of the point of Trump giving warning of the missiles.

What's the point of condemning the guys with the big sticks? Especially when many of hte little guys get direct financial aid from the big countries?

One Degree wrote:Russia and Syria prevented the UN investigators from entering. The very ones they requested.?

You know, there were airstrikes ongoing on the day the OPCW arrived. I think they were a bit busy with that. If you are trying to persuade everybody here that the Russians are covering it up by removing evidence than can you explain how are they supposed to do it:

1) Litterally thousands people should have been involved directly in this. (May be even tens of thousands) What will they do with all of them?
2) There is a civil war ongoing so i doubt any kind of intimidation with fear will be able to persuade the civilians to keep their mouths shut. That is simply unrealistic.
3) Tens of thousands or more are involved in this indirectly. (What are the Russians and Syrians supposed to do about that?)
4) Reletives of the dead which should number in couple of hundred definately will not be quite. (I suppose the Russians killed them already?)

It is unrealistic to suspect Russians/Syrians of a cover up. I know there are 9/11 conspiracy theories of it being an inside job but this attack puts that to a whole new level. How do you cover up a public event when there are more than tens of thousands of people involved directly or indirectly?

First, I have no idea who did what. I made a counter comment to the view being proposed.
Second, the people and their testimony is meaningless. It is not evidence and no one cares. Any delay of the investigators does allow time for removal of physical evidence. That is what will influence world opinion, not witnesses.

This always follows the same old regime change pattern. First the US/UK get a country to disarmed by sanctions, blackmail and international organisation like the UN. Then they invade or bomb the country to kingdom come by pretending that the country violates some sort of international law the US would never respect anyways.

They got Saddam to disarm and put his military installations under intrusive observation by UN weapons inspectors, and even though the inspectors never found WMDs, they invaded Iraq on the pretext of secrete WMDs. They issued deadlines for Saddam to disclose his WMD programs, but how can you disclose something that doesn't exist?

They got Qaddafi to give up his WMD programs. Then they turned Libya and neighboring Mali into failed states by a relentless bombing campaign on "humanitarian" grounds.

They got Assad to have his chemical weapons destroyed and join the OPCW and then they got their terrorist proxies to simulate poison gas attacks to bomb Assad's military installations just when he and his allies are about to defeat the terrorists.

Russia had its stockpiles of chemicals weapons destroyed under OPCW control (while the US keeps onto its own chemical weapons) and then they attack Russia by fabricating an absurd story of how Russia is supposed to have used chemical weapons in the UK, without any evidence whatsoever.

The lesson is clear: don't destroy your chemical weapons because the US/UK will destroy you if you do.
