Misty, stock prices have already soared. That is the problem. The Fed's. QE policy freed money in at the top and the recipients used it to buy real estate and stocks. This created 2 bubbles. They will burst soon. Do not buy stocks now, I think.
OTOH, non-Gov. debt is also soaring. This is bad because there will come a day [soon] when the people can't make the payments. Then the shit will hit the fan again. I think, in less than 3 years, maybe 1.

I have no business sense. I don't have a BA degree either. But I do have an AA degree. I don't put my money in the stock market because that seems like gambling to me, because money can also be lost in the stock market. I have my money in the bank, checking account, savings account, and CDs. I always make some interest that way and never lose any of my money because i don't have to pay any bank fees. I know I will not get rich that way, but I am satisfied that I have enough money to live well. I make sure I pay off my credit cards every month, which avoids paying interest on them. Maybe that is not smart by some standards, but what do you expect from a Bible thumping red neck. Praise the Lord.

For the first time in decades, every major type of investment has fared poorly, as the outlook for economic growth and corporate profits is dampened by rising trade tensions and interest rates. Stocks around the world are getting pummeled, while commodities and bonds are tumbling — all of which have left investors with few places to put their money.

Hmmm, I don’t have any money to invest and my social security is going up next check. Things look fine to me. :)

Yeah, I don’t understand why people live in these liberal utopias. Isn’t it a little concerning most of the political corruption is by Democrats in large cities abusing the very people they claim to represent? It is a repeating story. Jerry Brown’s California will be eventually revealed as just another Tammany Hall.

I don’t dislike them for it, but I have no reason to feel indebted to them. I paid for it, it was not a gift, and I would be fine without it.

Cute, but the irony for me is I would be financially better off if it had not existed. I would not have thrown my own money away if Social Security didn’t meet my needs. I may have been forced to live with my son in his 3 story house and using his jacuzzi, eating higher quality food, and using one of his new cars. :) Thank God Social Security saved me. :)

Me too. I also just got an email letting me know I will get a 2% increase in my postal retirement in my January payment. I will probably also get an increase in my military retirement. I also expect to get more back from my 2018 federal income tax too. Praise the Lord.

Look F.D.R. and his socialist commie types have just used social security simply to enslave you and make you a ward of the state. I think you and Hindsite should put your money where your mouth is and send your SS $ back to the government to help offset the trillion dollar Trump Deficit which has ballooned since Donald's "tax reform" gift to billionaires and corporations. Hold the phone …. with the federal budget deficit up around a cool trillion a year I just got a great idea ….. let's spend 5 or 45 billion on a 50 foot high wall along the Mexican border. Mexicans aren't too bright ….. I doubt they will show up with a 75 foot ladder or some tunnel digging equipment.

On a more serious note this: "I paid for it" was part of F.D.R.'s brilliance. He foresaw the day when the "establishment" would try to transfer the SS trust fund from the have nots to the haves. Tax "reform" was step #1 and, if the Republicans can pull it off, Social Security reform will be step #2. F.D.R. created a lobby of tens of millions like you and I who will be pissed as hell when the rich boys come for what little money we have left because …… we paid for it.

No regrets. The losses were expected just not how fast they happened. The state screwed the casino and the casino screwed me to pay for it before I realized what was really happening. They went from about 98% payback to about 20% overnight is my best guess. Probably actually higher than 20%, but done in all even bet paybacks. After over a year of playing $10 to $100 machines everyday I was up about $10K. I then lost $100K in less than a month without a single win. I tried more conservatively for another month with no change.

The internet gambling is about the same. They even give you some money at first and provide good odds of winning for a short time until the hammer drops.
Lucky for me I decided to quite before they got all my winnings back. I think they are just a bunch of crooks.

 Gambling never has 98% payback. The odds are always in favour of the house, and you only need a small advantage in the house's favour(a few percentage points) for them to win, in the long run. Thinking you had a 98% payback only shows how ignorant you actually were regarding the odds of you winning, in the first place, depending on the game you play.

A 98% payback is a 98% payback. What you need to figure out is the distribution of the payout of different machines. Is it a lot of small wins or a few big wins. Your article simply describes why I played in the ‘high limit’ room. They can afford a higher payout percentage than the cheaper machines. A small win on a $100 machine returns the same value as a huge win on a penny machine. There is even more involved in knowing how to play, but this is enough to demonstrate your knowledge of gambling is limited.
The house is always going to win but you can reduce their advantage. By playing high limit, I also probably received an additional 10K in comps. Comps are another way of reducing your loss percentage.
