In marketing-conmanhoodery President Trump is particularly clever. His failures are egotism, generally seen as big mouthoodry, eg that episode with Chuck and Nancy over shutting down the government, for which, initially, he was proud to take responsibility. That didn't last a week. When he realised he'd made a complete cock-up of it, his solution to his self-made problem wasn't to actually find a solution, but to shift the blame. Nancy Pelosi had the knowledge and the self control to better President Trump.

He also suffers from cruelty which has earned him condemnation from courts and common folks over his treatment of, amongst others, kids in kennels separated from their parents, Mexicans, and Muslims, excepting the one Muslim/Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who slaughtered Jamal Khashoggi. This in no way honours God.

I wonder how on earth anyone can support these actions. Is it a complete absence of morality or does galloping senility prevent them from seeing the extent of his bloodymindedness?

One of these is that of identifying and making full use of those who have what I will term 'single issue, non-negotiable' mindsets. One easily-recognizable group in this category are the anti-abortionists. For them, two merged cells form a human being, with all of the inalienable 'rights' that pertain thereto. Their belief is defined in such a way that there is no compromise possible as far as legislation is concerned.

Consider also President Trump's relationship to the 'They're going to take away our guns!' folks. Or the 'Government can't do anything right,' people. Or, for that matter, religious fundamentalists.

What cages? The Homeland Security Secretary said in a news conference that the kids were not in cages when asked about that fake story. Those people shouldn't have been crossing the border illegally with kids anyway. Even if the kids were locked up with their parents or guardians in some way, that is the result of them disobeying the law. The President did not make those laws.
