Well POD. Please outline what injustices the US has imposed on Native Americans in, say, the last 50 years. Please tell us that. I do not grant that widespread or even common abuses have or are occurring. Native Americans enjoy a protected class at taxpayer's expense. They are offered benefits, free healthcare for example, that no other citizens get. They are exempt from a considerable amount of tax yet they can vote in state elections. Their tribal enterprises are exempt from federal tax yet the federal government pays for their law enforcement, fire protection, ambulances, and as I said, health care. (Including drugs by the way.) And all of this is a dramatic escalation of the meager provisions of the treaties they signed.
Reservations are inherently racist. They are patently unfair.
No POD. Though there are many poor reservations around being a native American is a pretty good gig.
And I offered a number of reasons why specific cash reparations are counterproductive in the extreme. The are virtually senseless. But I am not going to explain my reasons yet again until you post that you read my long post previously. You have a habit of one-line questions, frequently asking people to explain what they have already explained.
As to Big Steve's use of the term Alphabet. I am with him on this. There has been considerable huddling under the same umbrella by people who, quite frankly, really have no place there. I believe that now we are to use the term L.G.B.T.Q.I.A.+. Good grief. Is there no kink we are not going to offer protected status to? Is there nobody left who is not some kind of victim? What is an A? Asexual or Ally? And the plus sign (and this is the height of idiocy) signifies "anyone else who is not included in the others." By the way, Q went from being "questioning" to "queer". Whatever that means. Now we have the further absurdity of "queer culture".
Make no mistake. I do not support anyone being deprived of their rights because of their sexual orientation. Full stop. But someone who identifies as an "ally" just to be in the 'movement', in addition to being maybe a touch sycophantic, does not deserve any particular notice on my part. At least not because they want to join, what is for them, a kind of a club.
Everyone should be aware that people, all people, are at least initially wary of the "other". This is not necessarily vice. It is often just a matter of time before they come around.
We need to stop discriminating against our fellow Americans. I find the fake Christians who refuse to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex marriage reprehensible. They are narrow minded bigots. But there are limits. Just because it gives one pleasure to stick a tail up their ass and get some little guy to ride them does not mean the rest of us need to respect this and treat them like a racehorse.
To believe in God is impossible not to believe in Him is absurd.
