I see it more and more in recent years. Of course it's nothing new, just look at how the Soviet Union or national-socialist Germany used sports as a propaganda tool only a century ago.

Propaganda doesn't have to always be a bad thing, it's just a neutral word. People automatically think of evil when they see the word propaganda. But when I look at the message they're trying to put out in sports these days, I can only come to the conclusion that it is meant to harm. It isn't positive propaganda. It isn't even the usual ''win for your state'' propaganda either.
