It looks like Putin's 2016 intelligence operation to interfere in US elections by using a team of hackers, propaganda and social media to get his man and Russian puppet, Donald Trump elected has paid big dividends for him. Looks like he might just get peace on his terms to the harm of US and Ukrainian interests. Especially Ukrainian interests. US allies cannot trust the US to have their back with Trump in office given that he is playing for the other team and has a record of betraying US allies (the Kurds for example) and trying to extort Ukraine. The Ukrainians as well as other US allies can't trust the US to have their backs with Trump in office so those American allies have to accommodate American enemies on the terms of America's enemies rather than what is in their own and America's best interests:

Nathan Hodge of CNN wrote:Putin has kept his cards close ahead of the meeting. According to diplomatic and political observers, Kiev and Moscow are still far apart on what steps need to be taken to forge a more lasting peace. Zelensky will meet the leaders of France, Germany and Russia in Paris on Monday to discuss steps toward ending the struggle in Ukraine's eastern Donbas region.

The conflict has been largely forgotten, at least in the United States, amid the drama over impeachment unfolding in Washington. That political furor itself flows from a controversial move by the Trump administration to withhold aid as the US President and his allies pressured Zelensky to dig up dirt on a political rival. Trump has denied the allegations.
Allegations that Putin also interfered with the 2016 US presidential election may also play into the impeachment process.

What is in Ukraine's interest? Is it in Ukraine's interest to fight a proxy war on behalf of the US only to be ditched in the end? Certainly not!

While I violently oppose Trump, his actions in Ukraine show to the Ukrainians that they cannot trust the US. That will motivate Ukraine to conclude a peace deal with Russia. If Ukrainians believe they have the unconditional support of the US, they will not agree to any peace deal.

That is of course not Trump's intention. Trump only cares about his own interests.

A proxy war on behalf of the Jewish state only to be dumped when Jewish supremacists no longer find them useful enough.
