They'll say that at the very least Brexit needs to be sorted out first and that they were not voted in to deliver another divisive referendum and subsequent upheaval that would make the situation even more complicated. Since they are unionists anyway, they have a good case in my view.
I'm also sure I'm not alone in thinking that meeting the SNP in good faith on a referendum, after the position they took in the last three years, should be very low on the Tory's priority list.

All the Dems have to do is be a middle of the road, centre left party that does not take for granted, disrespect or outright disdain many of the people it needs to win, but their coalition is now such that this might no longer be possible. So yes, Trump has a good chance to get a second term. I'd probably vote for him if I was American.
